Agreed he is not as good as Cullen whose ability to retain and regain possession
were a massive plus for us.

Jake Reeves has played 181 league games of which 113 have been in League 1. He isn't
Championship player, if he was we wouldn't have signed him, but we have missed him
while he has been unavailable and Stuart played him when he was carrying an injury. He
Is not rubbish and does have potential to get a lot better.

Our summer recruitment followed a pattern of replacing players who left with others who at
the time of signing were significantly inferior (Reeves for Cullen being one). Agree on your
general gist but a lot more to it than Jake Reeves.

When the full squad was available we over achieved, as soon as injuries and shit behind the
scenes came in to play we didn't have the depth in ability or character.

This was plain to see, if our owners can't see this and change our transfer policy accordingly
they are in for a very hard time from the supporters.

Grayson (I know you don't rate him) knows the players he wants know and must have a good idea of the cost.

The owners owe the club to make the 2018 / 2019 budget top six competitive after the mistakes they have made. The whole point of them taking over the club was because they could give it an extra push.

If not why are they here? A lot of us could balance the books. If Stefan doesn't want to just dole out the cash he need look no further than Mark Lawn for a less risky (To him) way of subsidising next seasons playing budget.

Point is, all those players played consistently well for us last season which is why we did so well. This season we've not had the same levels of consistency from our players or someone who can score or create chances from midfield (Marshall). irrespective of how they have performed this season, or if we have had better for a few games, we are going to need players who can match what those 4 did last season if we are going ti compete. If McGowan can keep fit we've replaced one of them, we just need to replace the other 3 now.

Sorry you've lost me here... This is the same Cullen who is now getting game time in the premier league right??

The same Cullen who would be the best player of every league one team and also the top 5 of most championship teams...

I think people underestimate just how good this boy is!!

Agreed. I also think that if we are to mount a serious promotion assault next season, we will need better. But what I do take offence to is the phrase ‘rubbish’ that Fordy keeps attributing to him. He’s a decent L1 player- he isn’t rubbish

He's certainly not rubbish, he's played enough games in league one now. I don't think he's as good as some make out though.

I can't see us keeping Guy.

we'll probably replace him with Reeves - everyone will pretend for a month or so that Reeves is a better player - then when he's stopped making any impact and gets dropped they'll say he was carrying an injury to cover for how crap he is.

Are you referring to Reeves or Guy? It’s just the majority of your post seems to indicate you are talking about Reeves, but the final sentence seems to be referring to Guy.

If the whole post is aimed at Reeves, then I’m not sure anyone thinks he is “as good as some make out”.

You’re starting to get boring now Ricc. It’s irrelevant as to what fans think of Reeves. The club issued a press release that he had undergone surgery that he had needed months before but played through.

If you don’t believe that to be true, that’s your prerogative. But stop trying to belittle those that do believe and see this as a genuine reason for his form to drop like it did.

No mate I'm on about Reeves. He showed some promise early on but I always thought he looked busy without doing actually doing much. Still not sure whether he's a defensive or attacking player. If it's defensive Guy already looks to have more potential. If it's attacking then he needs to be influencing a game like Oztumer does a Walsall or Dack at Blackburn.

Charlie doesn't make us play well, so when we're crap, he's crap, but it's been a long time since we had a goalscorer for when we are playing well, so damn right I'd be worried.

Pie-in-the-sky fans will demand better, but we were fortunate to sign Wyke for a quarter of a million, and would have to shell out considerably more to guarantee similar quality.

Played well Tuesday without a doubt but in the last few months he has been equally as bad as anyone else yet seems to avoid criticism

No real argument from me in that, Roger ........ However, after about 6 games, I noticed he was no longer trying to bring the ball out at speed. Instead was holding back to allow N Law to take over. I mentioned this point at HT in the kiosk area to a few fans, and two in particular also noticed that 'change'. I have since stated a few times, that I suspect that instruction came from Stuart. His form soon 'dipped', as if his own personal style was being undermined.
Oztumer ?? Oh yes !, I definitely wanted this lad onboard, last Summer. Apparently City had 'some' interest, but his wages would have stretched the Budget too far.

A new contract for Wyke in the summer should be high on the agenda. In fact, it should be high on the agenda now. Teams will be circling, including the sides that have been promoted from L1. Especially if rumoured interest from Middlesborough in January had any substance.

Easy to see him getting his head turned after this season and with only a year left on his deal, the club are in the same situation as they were with Nahki Wells and may feel the need to sell to get the best price. But, as you say, it would be a huge blow as strikers like Wyke are hard to come by and we were fortunate to get him at the price we did.
