Bollocks to it me and the wife are out raving this weekend now we've had our jabs .

 

Interesting. The Germans haven't approved the AstraZeneca vacccine for use on the over 65s.

Importantly it's due to a lack of data rather than any concrete fears about the safety of efficacy though. the first country to take a different stance over it as far as I'm aware.

 

In no way should any vaccine be diverted to Europe the country had the forethought to order millions early so stuff the E U on this

 

On tonight's news the German government are awaiting clearance of the BioNTech vaccine I believe it said getting approval and they have ordered millions of doses separately from the EU, looking a little like dog eat dog with regards getting their own citizen vaccinated, what happend to the unity and goodwill of all 27 members.

It amazes me that the EU are complaining about non delivery of vaccines that they haven’t even authorised for use yet.

 

Germany has recommend refusal of the license for the Oxford Vaccine for over 65s claiming it has not been tested enough for that age group,
More for us then!!!

 

According to the data the German scientists are using, only one person from the control group in the over 65s actually caught Covid, which is hilariously unlucky from a data perspective (great for the control group!) and renders that data segment pointless from a confidence interval perspective.

Given there will be huge amounts of real world data in the near future, they’ve probably just decided to sit tight and wait. Their scientists have made one decision and ours have made another, they’re both good at what they do and just differ on the outcome.

I’m still not sure doing Brexit victory laps is helpful. Unless you voted for Brexit to make vaccine procurement easier, this is something that has worked well for us and could equally have gone very badly if, say, the AstraZeneca jab had failed.

And also this isn’t a single stage game, we’re going to need to tweak this vaccine and redeliver it periodically. We may be lucky now and unlucky later on. It’s in everyone’s interests to disarm this little spat as quickly as possible.

 

Trying to get 2 elderly relatives booked for first jabs, tried phone and website both giving date of 9th April..10 weeks off, so much for over 80's being done by 15th feb...

 

Are you ringing your relatives own doctors practice if so that is a disgrace.
Try my doctors as my sister in law has no joy from her practise but will get an appointment next week when they ring her at The Ridge Practice 01274425600 as it seems that the vaccination centre in this area, if they cant they might be able to give you some advice.

 

Just done that and they cannot promise to do any better, they don't know when they will next have any vaccs, (Wibsey)..

More and more coming out about the EU and the Astra Zeneca contract, looks like the EU have really cocked it up.
