Cook has really struggled at Mansfield, and sounds like their fans aren't at all bothered about losing him.

I'm surprised it's a loan given Cook's contract is up at the end of the season. Doesn't make sense for us or them - if they're asking for a bigger fee, why let him out on loan? If we're unsure about signing him on a permanent, just give him the six months he's already on.

Maybe it's just less paperwork to bring him on loan rather than cancelling contracts and all that.

Seems weird.

So the question is, is The Don getting sacked off or is Novak badly injured?

 

I'd like the thought of having a winger off the bench but these days wingers aren't a must, it's more about passing and movement, which is something we are starting to look better at.

 

If we could replace the Don with Cooky and also keep Novak we would be in a good place up front

 

Donaldson will be used as a sub till he retires in the summer.
Left side of the 3 behind the striker when looking to close a game down, pressing opposition defenders whilst keeping hold of the ball high up the pitch.
A good option to have around the club if you ask me.

Sign cook and bring in a decent left winger. Got rid of dead wood. Think we’ve had a very good window , there’s a lot of competition for places & with this formation we can be tough to beat away with the likes of evans and attacking at home with stevens plus another. Well done sparks

Have to agree if true, a we’ve had plenty of youth loans in forward and wing positions over the years and the only ones I can remember being a success is Reach and Etherington, baring in mind one was 20 years ago. They’ll most likely spend most of the time on the bench, when that left attacking spot needs a first team player.

 

Splurging what’s left of the salary cap on a striker I would imagine
