Bit behind schedule as I’ve been getting serviced in my room:
Rowe was good. Seems to have slotted in very quickly. Looked like he’d been playing with us a while. Shame Sutton’s arse blocked two of his shots.
Evans was unlucky. As my Mrs says, an extra inch makes all the difference. Can’t believe it stayed out. Sutton and Watt played very well in midfield. Some of the triangles and short passing, especially from the back was pretty impressive.
The ref had a good game. That period with three hacked players on the deck with no free kicks given was a joy to behold. Proper football!
Clarke imo is the teams weaker link. Can’t remember anything from him of note.
Ditto Cooke. Great intent with no real end product.
If we shot more, we might get more goals.
Stephens looked alright. Good turn of pace and a few knockdowns. More in 15 mins than DMH has done since he arrived.
Hornby just needs to improve his distribution to be better than OD. Some nice saves and kept us in it.
And finally, was great listening to the home commentary. Balanced and clear. How come their ex player doesn’t fill the airwaves with over excitable yelps and biased opinion? Would like to listen to those two each week.

    Looking forward to Tuesday.

I just find it incredible that the same group of players that were so disorganised all season, letting goals in for fun are now a solid difficult to beat outfit. Great credit to the interim management team and if the club had followed the mantra of we must have stability and kept McCall regardless we would have been in dire straits now.

I was there with my the wife I recently lost and a few things I remember about that evening. I think it was 0.0 at half-time and although it was a sunny evening it was very cold. I also remember towards the end of the game a policeman who had been strolling up and down the touchline talking to me and Carol. He said "I'm supposed to stop you going on the pitch (to celebrate) at the end of the game but I'm only going to make a token effort so go for it".

I remember listening to the game on Pennine Radio with Tony Delahunty I think. Recall some sort of conga going on in the away end? Those were the days.

Gareth Evans's shot off both posts may be unusual, but it's well short of a record. I mean who can forget that classic match between Egas Polmariou and Papanikolis:

I'm not sure of the striker's name, but it may have been that legendary Greek striker, Kurtikos Guthrikos.

I like the way the goalie just shoves their player out of the way.

Hi all Cambridge fan here. My nan was from Bradford and her family had a fish and chip shop up there in the 1930s so I've the slightest link to you all so hope you don't mind me posting. Just to say I think a draw was a fair result but if you'd have got all 3 we couldn't have complained. How on earth are you where you are....? BTW a load of us think the shot that hit both goal posts also crossed the line..

Thanks for the comments about the commentary....Doug and Johnno are really respected and really fair. They also do their research. Just get those white numbers changed.

Anyway best of luck for the rest of the season...there's no way you'll be in the relegation mix....there's a classy team developing there. Sean

You know what? Thats exactly what i thought listening to Trueman after the game.
    Very coy when discussing Novak.
Over the years every manager always reassures or gives clues to injuries that have happened but there was no info whatsoever.
Not a 'twist of an ankle in training' or 'not a bad injury we are just been careful'.
Just a straight up no info and lets move on from talking about our leading goalscorer.
As soon as we moved on to Pritchard there was info and a potential timeframe etc.
    very dodgy.

I personally think its 100% a case of keeping coy until we sign another striker. Mainly to enhance our negotiating position, but also as a clever piece of PR to appease fans. We have a week or so of the window left; easy enough to string along a narrative of 'we're waiting for his injury to settle/scan results before we know more'. I'd expect detail of his injury to accompany a new striker announcement.
