McAleny would certainly be a shrewd signing.Worth pursuing get back in for him.

 

If we got him and a hard man type defensive midfielder this window could be the best for a very long time

The budget has always been good under Rupp it’s the people spending it that has let the club down

 

I think the fact that they are after another experienced striker points to the fact there could be some truth in the Novak rumour

 

Or the new management team want some pace/skill up there than older target men type

 

And if what the club says regards sticking to the salary cap,we must still have a little wiggle room to make McAleny a Bantam.

Like Rowe, there will be a lot of interest in McAleny . Lets hope if we can tempt Oldham to sell, his mate Danny boy can persuade him to venture over the Pennines and join us too

The piece in the Oldham paper the other week sounded like they are desperate and board may be tempted to sell.

Would be a great signing. Not sure what we paid for Canavan or Rowe but he’s out of contract in summer so must be real possibility of them selling. Let’s hope its us he opts for.

There is no way they will let him leave for nowt in the summer, so either they are trying to tempt him to sign a contract extension, or they will cash in and let him go this window. I think Rowe already being a bantam could work in our favour if he is going to move to another league 2 club, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is interest from the league above as well and he might be tempted.

 

If McAleny is beyond us, what about Danny Rowe's former Fylde strike partner Jack Muldoon, 11 goals and 4 assists for Harrogate so far this season

 

McAleny is not out of contract as the club have a year extension option they can trigger.

Still reckon if the right offer comes in he'll be gone. Unfortunately what the owner and us fans consider the right offer varies significantly.

 

I agree with your sentiments, FFP would seem the way ahead if properly implemented and monitored. Ways around it has left clubs in peril. Therefore sometimes easier to bring down the level of wages to a level which can be sustainable without a very rich benefactor.
