Your brain operates short term then.

The problem isn't if they can do the job the problem is long term.

They don't have the pulling power, the network, the experience to do the job long term. Why would you want to play under them?

So yes credit for doing better than McCall but this club has far too many inexperience in key positions.

 

Exactly my concerns with T&S, no contact network and football is all about that, however Turnbull will have plenty and T&S are essentially joint Head Coaches with him as DoF so do they need it ? If it purely comes down to coaching then their network is irrelevant and if they keep winning they can backfill the rest like Danny Cowley did.

 

Hopefully we keep winning because regardless of what a few will no doubt say on here it is a massive worry if we can’t even tempt the Morecambe boss, regardless of whether people rate him or not if you’re in charge of Morecambe and Bradford City come in for you you should be packing up your desk and thinking all your Christmas’ have come at once, it shows we still have a lot of work to do to improve the image of the club. People may mock someone like Grayson calling him a championship manager but he’s well respected in the game, his comments were damming to us and I worry if we start losing we’ll struggle to attract decent candidates. I hope we don’t live to regret not going with Hurst, that is of course if he didn’t turn us down as well.

Question: how do you become 'experienced' if no one is prepared to give you the chance to gain that precious 'experience'?
All the top managers/coaches had to start somewhere by someone who was prepared to give them the chance to gain that experience.
So, hypothetically, these two lads could win us every game until the end of the season but you'd bin them off in favour of a so called experienced manager because he has connections in the game?

 

Don’t forget he also suggested we hired a player who had just finished playing to be our new manager . Flip flop flip flop

 

Yep, some of our fan base really would want to bin them!

 

Trouble is - only Grayson thinks he’s any good.

 

Normally you have experience next to you to become experienced.

Held talks though which confirms we have indeed been targeting managers currently employed elsewhere

 

These two young men are doing exceptionally well at guiding us to safety, but lose 2 or 3 on the trot, and the knives will be, out for them, that's what happens on here. I say let's give them a season , at least they know the players

Seems a bit strange to me but maybe it does happen regularly I don’t know, for a club to go out of their way to approach another club to speak to their manager only not to bother making an offer.

 

Clear enough they spoke to him but in the meantime the T&S were impressing with what they were doing

 

If that manager says no after a chat you wouldn't offer a contract?

 

You can speak to someone about a role then decide it wouldn't be the right fit after that conversation so a formal offer would never be made. Happens all the time.

 

That’s the most likely scenario I agree, not how it comes across in the paper seems to me like we decided against it I’d be interested to know why.
