I would hope conversations have taken place with the likes of BRE and DMH advising them that they will be bit part players at best with us and it would be in their interest to get their agents to look for new clubs for them.

 

Agree but who in the FL would be willing to take them? I think they both, and Guthrie, will end up in the conference somewhere.

I don’t think either are going to be at a club at the top of the conference, DMH in particular could be lucky to get another professional deal

 

Some fans need a reality check. We are operating under a wage and squad limit. You cant just get 5 players in no matter how much you might want it. Therefore prioritise. It was a centre back, now not so sure. 2 quality signings will be chuffed. But that depends on whether we have a permanent manager or not. Who will sign long term with uncertainty?

 

300k should be 3 good players at our level. Or 2 good and 2 okay.
Ship out some of the dross too hopefully

 

Said it before but we should be shopping them two round conference clubs already if we've got anything about us.

 

We absolutely do but if the salary cap prevents it shoes how shambolic we were in the summer. When everyone else was signing who they wanted before the cap knowing they could average out the cost. Our club is so f-ing green its scary. No wonder we struggle to manage a game.

 

We should be celebrating the fact that at last we appear to be setting up a proper scouting network

 

Does it though. I expect those clubs now have players on inflated contracts long in length. Yes they signed before the restrictions but you now have the liability but not necessarily the benefit. I expect Doyle commanded a premium to sign up in time. With no revenues they are seriously putting the clubs at risk

And that's where the recruitment issue begins.

 

I'd take my grandma over those two...... she died 20 years ago.

 

We need quality over quantity this January, presuming we keep hosannah we have needed pace in this team for a while. I know Connelly couldn't cross for shit but he troubled defences with pace, mark Marshall beat men one on one with ease at times. We need someone like that up top end of pitch to stretch the game then players like cooke Clarke Evans would get more time on the ball.(maybe jevani brown or Kwame poku at colchester or Charles vernam at burton was at grimsby last season but any of these would cost a fair bit so probably a loan is more likely)
I'd also say we need another centre mid of the sutton type, energy and ability to tackle (josh falkingham harrogate town captain maybe only 6 months left on deal)
