Good riddance. A fantastic player for us who wore his heart on his sleeve. As a manager? Total clown. Failed at every club he has managed and now leaves up fighting against relegation.

Let's hope the next manager can sort out this bunch of idiots, donkey Donaldson, never wins a header and misses an open goal! Still not over that one.

Good points there but the club would probably offer a bonus for keeping us up to help compensate for any clause that Sunderland may have put in. Unless you have big profile in the game like Mourinho managers don't like to be out a job for too long in case they get forgotten about.

Good post @Morley Bantam@Morley Bantam I'd suggest anyone who saw him during his time as a player, as yourself I was lucky enough to see both of his spells at the club, a great player, Captain, Legend and Ambassador for the club, although it's been difficult for many to see him struggling we all know deep down it was the best for both parties to cut the umbilical cord and sever his ties with regards the club in a professional capacity.

I'm sure he will be made more than welcome when ever he returns to his club be that as a pundit for Sky or an ordinary fan who loves this football club.

The lack of experience thing about Sparks. I know what you are getting at but not everyone on here will get it.
Where we are at the moment I don't think a guy fresh out of playing would be a good idea. We can't ship out as many as we would like in January so we need someone who can get a reaction out of this excuse of a squad.

Mate, being a football manger is miles different to being a CEO of a business.

A football manager has been in the game more than likely since 4 years old learning off different managers. Also if a player becomes a manager then more than likely has an experienced number 2. Recently we have seen Barton, Kewell, Gerrard, Lampard become managers. Rooney is having a go. Now yes not all players make good managers but Bradford City have been down the Bowyer and McCall route.

So having a young manager with an experienced number 2 and more importantly a DOF would work.

We need to start getting into the 2020 of football.

If we are to go with experience then for me it has to be a manager that has worked with a DOF because this club needs to start finding an identity.

Awesome news... will always be a legend as a player.

Still tho I have absolutely no faith with the hierarchy making the correct appointment..

True. We may all be underestimating Sparks, which is understandable given is age and inexperience. The contract extension may have been intended to get a positive reaction from the players, well that didn't work.

As a couple like @How@How have noticed, once we find out who the new chief recruiter is, the new manager/coach will slot into place.
The secrecy the last week has been very telling.
City are not a club known for being upfront as to what it is really doing.

No joy to be had in a club legend failing miserably. It’s a relief he has gone though, yesterday was a cringe fest.

I just hope the club really do their homework on the next appointment, and get the right man who has the tools in his locker to sort this rabble out and get some points in the bag.

    In Sparksy we trust!

We might not go down that route now.

McCall needed recruitment help but the new manager might not.

Calm down Fordy! I didn't say that I disagreed with you. What's the problem, is your business on lockdown?
I thought you and I had worked each other out by now.
