I'd have more respect for Sparks if he admitted his mistake at giving Stuart a new deal and pulled the plug on this farce.

 

I think it'd show strength.

 

Anyway, the Grimsby game a week on Tuesday is huge.
It might be wise for us to pull the same stunt they did and claim Covid cases in the camp the day before.
We’d then play them in January with stronger squad

 

Wake up and smell the coffee guys. Surely you can see what’s happened. Mr Rupp has proved to be n honourable person and it’s quite obvious that Stuart has been given a years contract as it will act as a golden handshake if and when he loses his job. It’s not rocket science

 

My thoughts entirely or just wishful thinking that Mr Rupp is that interested

 

Fundamentally, McCall does not understand lower league football. He doesn't know what a team requires at this level nor how to set them up.

2007-10 was, for the most part, nonsense.

2016-17 was good, admittedly, but with a core from PP - players SM would unlikely ever sign himself - and with additions from Abbott (Vincelot), John Dreyer (NKP) and Steve Banks (Colin Doyle).

2020 onwards - worse than 07-10.

The players he is dealing with are obviously no where near the level he was at as a player and they're not as good as he thinks they are. They are incapable of carrying out his tactics/instructions and it leads to the utter mess we are seeing on the pitch week in week out.

It makes him incompetent or negligent. But the end result is the same. McCall should not be manager.

 

Year? I’d go managerial career

 

When you review Stuarts football career City, Everton, Rangers, Scotland, City again, Sheff Utd etc..He has always worked with "good professionals". As a coach/manager he has largely had good pro's who could carry his message out on the pitch. Execute a game plan and manage themselves in the match. Most recently at Scunthorpe (and I know from my Scunny contacts) he was exposed somewhat by a fading squad forced to recruit quickly and supplemented by youngsters.

Again at City he inherited a team out of form; lacking direction and in need of a good pro or two. Now he really is up against it; because none of the current squad are "good pros" no one seems to be able to carry out the game plan. In fact it sometimes looks like there isnt one ?

Sparks cannot sack Stuart now because it would immediately tear up the first big decision of his reign ? That of awarding Stuart & Kenny Black extended contracts. If he does then that tells me that Sparks is not the right man for the job ?. Whats the point of bringing in this new Recruitment guy; big meeting with Stuart & Kenny then he sacks them ? Thats just a complete shambles surely. No Sparks needs to hold his nerve; stick with his convictions ; give the management team - who he backed the January transfer window to bring in 4-5 good professionals who go straight into the team. Players who Stuart is able to trust to execute the game plan and manage themselves and others around them in the game. Thats really what Stuart himself was all about on the pitch. Stepping up and being the Manager on the pitch for his boss on the sidelines. Stuart has not suddenly lost all understanding of whats needed in the situation. He just has not got the right types in this squad for the task. He; the club badly misjudged the Summer with the back drop of Covid. But they cannot; must not get January wrong or we will be really staring down the barrel.

Listening to Stuart on Radio Leeds was uncomfy at times. He over talks; too honest heart on sleeve as ever. Yes it is 6 defeats on the spin and hard to see where the next points coming from over Christmas. I just cannot see how the arrival of yet another Manager changes anything when they would still only have the same players to work with ?

 

When you're on the pitch you think with your feet. When you're a manager you think with your head. That explains Stuart's career completely. Brilliant player, in every other respect very, very dim. That's as politely as I can put it.

 

Stuart should have moved heaven and earth to sign Charlie Adam in the summer.

 

Mate - wake up and stop blowing smoke up Mcalls arse - he signed DMH - Sutton Clarke etc and said he was happy with the squad - refused to spend his Quota - because he didn’t know who to sign. as much as we all love Stuart - his management skills are embarrassing- he needs to go - and go now - SIMPLE!!!
