Just found the letter that it is from and it is a general vaccination for COVID rather than specific to the Pfizer one, so they may not all have facilities to store to -80C. They are large hubs already used for distribution of NHS products

    Don’t know.
Just googled it. The whole of Derbyshire is in Tier 3.

Had to book a test today for my 2 year old, went online at 2:00 and had done the test and on way home by 4:30. Could have been sooner but I had to get home and then get to test centre

Given the level of compliance around here, I'm surprised we aren't in tier 4.

Just watching Prof Jonathon Van Tam answering questions about vaccines. Teachers saying they should be high on the list to stop education disruption, his basic answer was it was more important to stop people dieing, weird that.
Also he just gave a breakdown about the Pfizer one that it is two shots 21 days apart and then it kicks in a week to 10 days later so over a month after first jab. But so far they have only shown it lasts for 3 months, they haven’t a clue how long it lasts

For some reason there was a HUGE!!! drop in infections in Bradford, at least according to the Covidzoe app. A couple of weeks ago Bradford was almost double that of Leeds, now it's less than Leeds.
The covidzoe app relies on people self reporting their symptoms but the brains behind it claims it's ahead of the ONS by a few days - with the ONS tracking it.

To be fair, it’s pretty hard to argue that the current status quo has much of a freedom of choice attached to it.

I don’t think anyone would really choose to be vaccinated if they didn’t have to be - but were it not for the people that do exercise that choice to be vaccinated, we’d be stuck like this indefinitely. It seems reasonable to me that the upside of making that choice should be a relaxation of personal freedoms, unless there’s a substantive reason for not being vaccinated. I don’t think this is comparable to seasonal flu in this instance - the aim is to get as close as possible to eradicating it, rather than alleviating it.

Looking at the stats today the drop off since lockdown is dramatic as you would expect but it seems to be leveling off a bit across all aspects. i don't really get that at all as I can't see what would be driving the change?

Bad timing if it is the case when we're less than 2 weeks from the tier discussion.

The case will have dropped off a couple
Of weeks into lockdown and then will probably start going back up next week, hospital admissions a week behind that.

I would hazard a guess it would level out after a couple of weeks lockdown due to it hitting the level transmitted through contact still allowed

According to the app Bradford has dropped again. Bradford is given as 4800 symptomatic cases per million. Leeds 6,700. Calderdale, Skipton and Wakefield are all higher than Bradford. It was a completely different story just two weeks ago.
Will it fall enough to drop tiers in the next two weeks???

Are those the official positive case figures ? Or the app that relies on users telling it about symptoms?

What do we think is the rate per 100,000 that might be considered going from tier 3 to tier 2, I know there’s other things to consider, but would a rate below 200 be a cut off, 100 maybe?

It's the users reporting symptoms, not official figures. They are symptomatic reports. However the guy who is head of the study has stated quite clearly that the app numbers are tracking the official figures pretty closely. In fact he said that it's 3 days ahead of the official figures. Bradford has had another fall this morning.
You can see the map (may have to paste into your browser):
    https://covid.joinzoe.com/data

Click on an area and it gives the cases per million. Darker the colour the higher the infections. To contribute to the app you will need to use a smartphone. I think I started reporting in early May, although I stopped over July and August.
The chap who is heading the app:

I don't know the answer but it's a good question. There's probably other factors such as surrounding areas. For example, Bradford may become very low but if adjoining areas such as Leeds and north York's are high then it may well be that Bradford has to stay in tier 3.
Anyway we need it to go down to tier 1. Then we can booze away in a pub!

It's worth adding that the 'Zoe' app is much more sophisticated than just adding up those reporting symptoms. It uses some very complex algorithms that extrapolate what are probably the most realistic figures available.
