They're not as few and far between as you'd think. But they need to be attracted. You can't just wait for the phone to ring. You need to get on the front foot and speak to firms who can broker contacts and put you in touch with people. It costs, but if it pays off, its very much worth it.

Contrary to popular belief, these types of people are out there but its about being proactive and seeking out opportunities - something I'm not sure the current incumbent want to do or are capable of.

Darragh used a broker to find his investors and part sold a share in Peterborough. They are Canadian venture capitalists/ If there is the desire and a plan, it can be done.

His partners are behind the £25m new stadium and they bought back the old stadium for £3m. Little old Peterborough were in League 2 and didn't own the ground before he took over.

Very true, but a lot of folk attended that thinking they would get a voucher for a play off ticket

To demonstrate how owners with a vision for their club and the wherewithal to make it happen, have a look here at how the three Posh owners plan to develop Posh ..

    https://embankmentstadium.com/

It's an impressive and ambitious approach done in conjuction with the local council and the university as part of a much bigger development. It contrasts markedly with how we go about things! Have a look for the interview with Stewart Thompson abiout his own plans for the future of Posh in a new 19,500 capacity stadium.

Its so depressing looking at other, smaller clubs who're setting themselves up with so much more ambition, planning and capability than we are.

Very impressive, but I would hope they have plans to replace the grass they have superimposed it on with tarmac, otherwise it's going to be very muddy underfoot in winter.

On a serious note, that is impressive vision. Wasn't there some talk of the guy who owns a big logistics company in Leeds wanting to buy us as some point, but being turned down as Mark Lawn wanted to keep a stake himself ? Not 100% sure who it was (might have been Steve Parkin who is a major bod at Clipper Logistics, someone can correct me on that if it was not him).

Whoever it was wanted to merge us and the Bulls into a Bradford Sporting Group, but true to form we turned him down and he was sent away. I wonder if he still ahs the same vision, the dire straights both clubs are in (and the potential of both) would make it a great deal now, even if his plan was to demolish both stadiums and build a new one.

All three Co owners have different skillsets and added together all three have a vision and plan that takes Peterborough to the next level. It does help when you have a chairman hell bent on success like MacAnthony. Love the plan though, it's not just football based, if it was it wouldn't be financially viable. I was discussing this on a WhatsApp group earlier, our best chance of building a successful sporting legacy that can be enjoyed by future generations was at the turn of the millenium. Unfortunately thhere was short term gain but no long term plan. We now are at a point 20 years later where we could realistically see one of those teams not even playing in its home city and the other one drop out of the football league structure for the first time in its history.
    Pity poor Bradford.

The guy couldn't even get a deal to buy Wakefield R.L. over the line, I'm sure he'd previously tried to buy Leeds United and a couple of other RL clubs. He could have bought the Bulls on countless occasions over the last ten years if he was genuine, he came across to me as one of the many shysters professional sports clubs attract who go on and on about buying clubs, but don't actually have the means to do it.

He'll need to pay 6 times his previous offer for a club 1 point off relegation. It isn't going to happen.

Clipper Logistics, a delivery business he founded in 1992. He made £30m from the company when it floated in 2014 and still owns 31.6 per cent. It handles clothing for Asda, Supergroup and others. He is worth an estimated £190m.

Didn't stop him buying Guiseley and carry on at this rate we will be below them in the pyramid. Better being owned by someone like him rather than the invisible man.

I doubt his lack of success is about his financial clout (30% stake in one of the UK's biggest logistics companies whose prime customers are massive online players) and more about his targets turning out as basket cases, Wakefield Trinity being a prime example of that.

He may well be a shyster, but better that than someone who got talked into buying a club BY a shyster and ending up holding the barely breathing baby when the shyster was found out.

Didn't he want to amalgamate both City and the Bulls, and he's a massive Leeds fan, I believe he tried to buy in at Elland road before or around the time Big Geoff got in.

See I am not having this Edin story anymore.

If Rupp showed in interest in Bradford City then I might but the hiring of Sparks as CEO and signing off McCall new contract is starting to show me that maybe more to this Edin story.

a couple of years ago their plan was to redevelop the current stadium, I wonder if they will follow through with the new plan.

Seems strange they are still planning on buying the current stadium from the council but at same time building a new one

the football club will not own the new stadium, the owners are setting up an independent company that they will own and the club will pay rent

I’m not sure about a Championship club Dennis, the population of Bradford is increasingly of Asian descent and by and large the crowd at VP is predominantly white. 20 years ago 15% identified as Pakistani descent and 10 years ago 20% recorded the same identity, next year’s census is unlikely to show a decrease. As the current generation of City fans or their children move up the Aire Valley or move further away, more and more of their offspring will find other clubs to support. Very high on Sparks’ list needs to be a long term plan to engage all fans but especially the local communities.
