Realistically we won’t let them all go.

Wood is the only player of any value we have and should be the only contract we are offering right now. The rest need the remainder of the season to prove they are worthy of even considering an extension.

Ask yourself which of that list would you be disappointed to lose??

 

Controversial but is Wood all we make him out to be? Constantly out of position and weak defender. Not convinced by him myself. I watched Morecambe earlier on and their left back looked like a better version of him.

 

In a salary cap post Covid world maybe half a dozen of the senior players in that list are facing the end of their careers as professional footballers. You couldn’t tell by their performances.

This. AOC should be the first gone. I can't see anyone of that list of players getting new deals which means its going to be a massive summer. Unfortunately Wood will be leaving otherwise id keep him.

 

I haven`t posted on here for a long while, been that deflated with "performances" and a steady decline in all that is/was Bradford City but still do i-follow, solely because it`s paid for. IMO there`s only Cooke who resembles a footballer and he`s showing signs of throwing the towel in even at this early stage. The lack of passion, fitness and basic fundamental skills is astounding though not not surprising. Like a few on here, i have been watching City for over 50 years and even in the days when we were in old Division 4 there was a family-feel and "we can get out of this" mentality. I could go on but come on guys, at least give us something to get excited about in these dark days.

You are right, realistically some will be offered contracts. There seems to be a lot of animosity to AOC, maybe partly because of the captain's armband business but he is the only defender with any quality. Wood is now looking like the player he was last season but he won't be here much longer. Paudie looked a good prospect when on loan but now looks very limited. As for BRE, he is a brute of a guy to look at but I couldn't believe how easily he was shrugged off the ball for their 2nd goal.
We need to build around any decent youngsters we have like Watt, Staunton, Scales, get some defenders who can do what they are paid for.
I would give 12 month contracts to Novak and Clarke to help us through the big overhaul we obviously need.

 

AOC is useless, can’t play centre half not sure where he was today but he was even worse in midfield if that’s where he was. Painfully slow, small and weak (for a CB) and dubious character.

Signifies failure and been an ever present through it.
