I thought we’d lose today, so I’ll take a point under the circumstances. Still gutting to give it away at the end. My expectations are pretty low this season tbh, two draws is probably not far off what my expectations currently are.

Do you really see that many teams beating us this season that we'll struggle?

    I really, really don't.

I think we're a long way from the standard required to win the league but I don't think we're too far from autos. After midweek, getting anything was a bonus. Given that we played for 30 mins with 9 men, the defensive will was better than anyone would have expected.
A few key signings will help but will the board provide McCall with the funds needed to get the signings over the line? Time will tell.

Was a poor listen and watching the "Highlights" was more shocking. Novak's goal was a pub league goal, probably the worst city goal I've seen.

I don't see much to this team. No decent centre back, AOC should have been out of the club once we left league one, he's not an influence/leader you need in that position. BRE likewise. The two should have been shipped out.

It wasn't passion that got us a draw, it was pure desperation after two sending offs. POC should feel aggrieved.

Unless things change, and the recruitment is good, I do. We’ve scored four in five games and conceded eight. As the squad stands today it will not score enough to trouble the play offs and I read somewhere you need 45 goals to avoid the bottom two. I don’t think we’re that bad, but the confidence or attitude in the squad has been piss poor the last two seasons.

The squad is poor. Donaldson is past his best, there are five or so who clearly are not up to standard and one or two with questionable attitudes.

Two league games in we’re already possibly faced with a back three of BRE, French and one of the first year pros for the next game. That’s the depth of the squad. McCall seemingly preferred Novak at CB over Cousin-Dawson.

We’ve no right back, two ineffective wingers, one striker of any note, we’ve Clarke who if we’re to play him means nullifying one of our better players in Cooke.

Recruitment over the next few weeks will I think define the season, some kids from championship academies are all well and good but it needs some real leadership and quality. I think we’re more likely to be closer to the bottom than the top

Without trawling through this lot, were the 2 sendings off justified?

Depends. If you want to pretend the reason we were rubbish is the referee, then no.

    If you're realist, then yes.

AOC yes, POC was stupid enough to put himself in the situation so yes it was justified.

POC was 100% right to be furious about what Adams did to French. He was 100% wrong in the way he went about addressing that fury.

Yes. AOC can have no complaints, it was sloppy defending.

POC can’t complain either. Yes, their guys reaction was pathetic. For a big lad to fall over the hoardings naturally like he did you’d have to be hit very hard by Mike Tyson and be off balance as he did so. However....POC shouldn’t have been anywhere near him. Yes the guy flung his arms unnecessarily in Frenchs face which the ref completely ignored, but even still you can’t react.

You're not alone many in the prediction league shared your opinion as did I, more so after Tuesday night, Lincoln got a good 3 points at MK Don's yesterday, they could be the dark horse in league one.

French could have gone down like someone had tried to garrotte him! Lie there ‘gasping for breath’. The one going off then would have been Adams!

Im opinion our two players are getting undue stick here when both have done little or nothing wrong. French gets a cheap shot but takes it in the right way, no diving about or throwing himself on the floor. O'Connor sticks up for his team mate which all good team mates should. The things that are wrong here at the game as it stands today, Adams for blatant cheating and playacting. The way Adams reacted, firstly with a blind cheap shot and then throwing himself over the advertising hoarding is the mark of a coward. It shouldn't be allowed in the game.

You're easily satisfied and don't understand the bigger picture. I think if I remember last season you thought a point at Leyton Orient was acceptable.

Overalll it was a point result. It highlighted all the weaknesses in the McCall and our squad. Everything that most have been saying about the squad and McCall was highlighted in that game. Lack of leadership, Lack of squad depth, lack of goals, Poor at the back, Awful Recruiment, McCall tinkering. McCall not a great manager.

A point away puts more pressure on the following home match. We need to learn how to win again and often.

This squad isn't good enough and only a fool can't see that.

Without going into the why's and what for's of the sending off's we had to defend a lead, two defenders short for a significant chunk of the game. Ball after ball came into the box and we defended them only succumbing deep into injury time. Given the context of a heavy midweek home defeat where we couldn't defend any balls into the box it was a mammoth effort. The team of the last few seasons would have folded no question about it. Imagine getting some of our old sulky strikers switching to centre back without making a fuss or triggering some contractural clause. We end up with a solid point. Sorry it wasn't good enough for you all.

Look, Paudie did not need to react in the way he did.
Someone I worked with son, ‘stuck’ up for a women, ended up in a very brief fight, the other guy goes down, fractures his skull, dies and the lad gets convicted of manslaughter.
There are ways of dealing with these things, and Paudie put himself at risk and the team and club under more pressure.
For what it is worth, I didn’t think Adams ‘threw’ himself over the advertising hoarding, It looked like he was backing away from Paudie and fell over the hoarding, which was out of his line of sight.
