You said that with the way things are, no league 2 footballer would be commanding Vaughan's sort of salary. I'm asking how much you think Spearing is on, as a new league 2 player.

With a bit off luck Tranmere ,Bolton and Salford all have a shit season. Bolton yet again throwing money around that they cant really afford and will end up another Bury unless the EFL show favouritism to them again. Tranmere for the way they condoned what Vaughan has done ,and Salford for the way they threw big bucks about to gain advantage over every league 2 rival except Bolton before the salary cap came in. The EFL should have put a transfer embargo on every club until the cap came in instead of letting clubs like Salford basically cheat.

 

I have no idea, I'm not privvy to Tranmeres. Financial accounts. Maybe he's on 3.5 k a week like Vaughan was. Who knows?

 

I don’t think Tranmere have an issue with finances. Other than covid. They are run by very smart owners who spend the majority of the budget but always budget for some in reserve for January for when they have a chance at promotion or to prevent relegations always have done. That was one of the reasons they were so against the PPG conclusion as they usually come on strong in the second half.

I would imagine the 20 staff made redundant at the end of July at Tranmere will not be happy they are splashing the cash this month

Short fuse. Gets injured a lot. 16 clubs in a career. Spits dummy. Can’t hit a cow on the arse with a banjo in Macclesfield 6 yard area.
Best years behind him. We’ve more than likely dodged a bullet.
Still question remains over the appalling handling of this by the club. Sparks in particular has omelette on face following comments about playing hardball to keep Vaughan. The club appears to be a shambles based on recent all talk no action with Vaughan. Much damage done the the clubs credibility. Today and moving forwards in future negotiations.

 

To be fair, many City fans are demanding we're run in that fashion - if not with even greater losses.
