Who is saying he hasn't got talent?

I just find it hard to believe he would turn down training with us to just a club part time but lets move on from that. He is contracted to Notts and I doubt they will want him to leave after 8 games or so hes played.

 

And so you should. This is Fordy117 after all. Whether true or not, this kind of rumour gets my attention, much more than the journey men in their early 30s, chasing a last pay day. Yeah, you get a few winners like Thorne.....

 

Did our supposed interest actually turn into an offer though? We might have been interested, we might still be interested, but it doesn't mean a great deal unless we put an offer on the table to the lad / Notts.
I agree he looked decent in the playoff games but don't really know much else about him

 

It’s sounds contradictory to what was said this morning where it was said we are waiting on players higher up the league so we will wait and see.
It’s gone a bit quiet on the Vaughan front I don’t know how Tranmere are going to afford him

 

The northern leagues has some very good players on very good money, the local team has two lads who turned down Sunderland to sign for South Shields fc, one who came through the PSV youth set up and a average wage of 500-750pw.
But again I bow to your superior knowledge after all James Hanson signed on for around 250pw a good few years ago

£750 a week at that level is crackers, it ain't much less than what City will be offering certain players. Have they got a backer behind the scenes?

 

Did you manage to gauge our level of interest? In terms of whether it's just stuart having words with his agent or if we've approached notts?

 

According to his father and also his agent being from from South Shields and any football league team being interested it would be foolish to deny any contact being made

 

Not necessarily a backer but there is quite a bit of money behind most teams in the northern leagues attendance wise compared to the likes of BPA who are leagues below the conference north, the average of the leagues up here is far and above conference north attendance levels

 

So did South Shields have to pay Sunderland some compensation for the lad Jordan Hunter, or did Sunderland offer him lower terms?

 

Maybe like Carlisle tried to with Wyke, but if there's a clause, there's a clause, people like Keith Curle can say what they like but the law's the law and in that game there's only ONE hard ball.

 

It has been mentioned we were looking at a few players, and in other reports 3 to 4. The one Park refers to a couple of league players we have made enquiries of. So it would appears we are on the look out for further recruits over and above the 2 league players. We also will need other options should the 2 league not be available/ not want join City.

 

Doubt we will go from looking at players in above league to then looking backwards.

If we really want this non league player then I would expect a move this week or next.

Non league players need to be signed ASAP.

I just don't believe the story. Man in the pub rubbish but I wouldn't mind it if he joined.

 

With the salary cap due to be voted in I doubt there will be room for more than about 2 more players even if they are signed before it’s the rule

 

I'm still hoping we offload a couple, mainly Guthrie, as both Vaughan and Novak are both similar players who play with their backs to goal. As well as Longridge, now with Staunton stepping up as adequate back up. Then we can hopefully bring in Alex Macdonald or Cal Roberts, a right back and the elusive 'pacey' striker. Anyone know what happened to Danny Rose at Mansfield?

What then sold let him go to Notts for how much?

 

Callum Roberts would be an excellent signing.
