    I’m wracking my head concerning the end game here. It’s clear you cannot prevent exponential growth without a permanent lock down or a vaccine. We can’t permanently lock down, and there are no guarantees regarding a vaccine ever being created.

    It’s becoming clearer by the day that this is a war and we are just in the midst of the first battle. As with the world wars, we are hoping it will be over by Christmas. It won’t. What is the government going to do when we are in the midst of a depression in 6 months time with likely no medical advancement? It’s difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

    I just don't understand what the government is trying to achieve? I said don't damage the economy and its getting killed. Massive mistake. Tell me how do we see the light?

    I don't know what you can do but create the website. You can't beam it directly into peoples eyes and I don't really fancy trying to watch Boris to his updates in Urdu :joy:

    It's on the basic NHS website if you want to find information it's there for you but if you think feck it don't use the excuse they don't tell us anything.

    They included Welsh which made me smile as it is issued by PH England!
    The Welsh do their own stuff as do the sweaty socks, but if you include welsh speakers then by rights scots and Gaelic should be there too.

    It's a good point; I don't think many would swap this virus for the likes of World War 2.

    And yet, in less than 6 months, we are fast approaching the recorded 66,375 UK civilian deaths that occurred in the 6 years of World War 2.

    Possibly because corona is killing predominantly over 70s and those with outstanding illnesses

    The war wiped out whole streets and communities... dont think the 2 are comparable

    Plus the many thousands who lost loved ones in action

    And if we look at WW1 there were kids many lying about there age to serve their country, where as the modern young people go to the beach and don't give a f***.
    Maybe as you say not a good comparison but makes you wonder what it takes for people to heed the advice given.

    Love how you generalise so much.

    You do realise there are far more modern young people staying at home and protecting their elders than going out to the beach. As was there many people who lied about their age to avoid serving their country during the war or those who fled and hid to avoid service. Your comparisons are very crude.

    You'll never get an accurate number for that, theres no way of knowing.

    The average deaths during that period over the past 5 years give some sort of indication though.
