I agree some won't like it, but they'll probably be the same ones that will be grumbling next year when the playing budget is cut due to a loss in club income.

A family of 4 ain't gonna stump up £600 on the off chance they can watch live football in this day and age

At worst they can pay £150 and all watch together on ifollow or at best get a TV box for £80 per year and watch all the matches and sky sports etc

I think a lot will wait until they are allowed in the ground before buying a season ticket for all the family

If people think that households are going to pay £100 -150 on Ifollow then dream on.

Getting a season ticket to watch games live is different. To pay 150 for tv plus Sky Sports, plus BT Sports, plus Netfleix, Plus Amazon Prime, plus Disney Plus ....Kidding yourselves...Not happening!!

    Thanks for pointing that out.
Do you have a workable solution?

I appreciate there may be quite a few fans who are struggling financially due to covid, and I realise my earlier post saying I hope 'real' fans would pay up might have come across as being a bit insensitive and for that I apologise. I guess what I'm trying to say is these are unprecedented times and those of us who are able to, I would hope will support the club by buying as many season tickets as possible. I just don't get this idea that people aren't going to pay if the only option is to watch games on TV. If games are being played, I want to watch them and if the only way to do that at this time is via the telly box, I'm in.

It's not even about if people are stuggling. It becomes a different kind of a bill and I doubt many will be able to sit to watch City on tv every Saturday on midweek then all the other footy. Not going to happen.

How is it a different kind of bill to a season ticket? It's a different way of watching the game I'll give you that, but if you normally buy a season ticket anyway, how is it any different to that? You are still paying out the same amount, the only difference is in the way you are using it.

If you bought a season ticket you would go to the games wouldn't you?
The only difference is your not going to travel to the ground plus how many don't turn up in the winter months but if they have it on the TV they don't worry about the weather.

I would have no interest in buying a season ticket if it was for Ifollow only. It would be like watching a training session every Saturday.

You cannot compare the normal matchday routine, including wrapping up to sit in the freezing cold, to sat at home watching on a screen.

If we are not allowed in next season, it will be the wireless for me, assuming Radio Leeds will broadcast matches, that way I cannot see the empty stadium.

iFollow may bring opportunities for increasing income, There are many thousands of people who cannot for a variety of reasons go to the game, Normally they listen on radio but if a percentage could watch the game they may well purchase it especially game by game to even the payments out

Because it's a different experience and you are at home.

    It becomes a TV bill.

Those that think they will be tuning in every Saturday won't be. You will get dragged to do something else. It's like this...Once you stop the lads holidays its hard then the get back on them. Most of you get dragged to the shops by your wife. You have no chance watching City at home every Saturday. None....Keep dreaming people.

Also too many avenues in which you will be able to watch the game for free.

Right, well if it's going to be as much of a waste of time as you say it is, I guess it's best they just don't show the games at all then eh? I'm sure the club will manage just fine without the income.

Well unfortunately the answer is in the government hands(Which is a massive issue because Boris is the biggest mistake this country has ever made. The man is utter useless). I would be banging on the door demanding funding. If the government wants to keep doing these lockdowns it's going to kill lower league clubs with or without Ifollow.

The EFL have asked the PL for 250m and I think that's been declined.

The EFL now have to do two things - One beg the government for money and two beg Sky to stop being a set of dickheads and demanding football starts in September. The only reason we are starting in September is because of TV contract.

If the government has no indention of having fans back this year which I don't think they do then they need to say! If the intention is then even if we delay restart until October/November like @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler said (Tagging him in because he said it) then that's the best outcome now. He is right!

The Ifollow won't work..Fans will switch off lower league football on tv. Lower league need fans at games it's the only answer hence why in September Scotland are having fans back and in France fans are back. No bloody pilot scheme that's just a poor excuse! Pilot then 3 months later - Come on! The government needs to put Whitty because in his negative box and let businesses/People operate how they like now. WE HAVE NO VACCINE! We all can't live like this for the next 1,2, 5 years it will finish off the economy. We need to learn to live with the virus not be scared.

I've just had a thought. At the moment, we've no definite idea how this will work, but I've been working on the assumption that it will be the same price as a season ticket. However, the price of an ifollow subscription in previous seasons has been the same across the board for every club, and for a one off game available to viewers in the UK, it's been a flate rate of ten pounds a game, but obviously, season tickets are not the same price at every club . Will ifollow allow individual clubs to price their package in line with their own current season ticket prices, or will there be a one price for all across the board? Also, if they are allowed to do it at season ticket prices, I imagine that will be for home games only and you will have to pay extra if you want to watch away games as well.

I could be wrong but I think @king karl@king karl was saying for £80 & a box/fire stick you can get all City games and others from our league plus the extras like Sky, BT, Disney, Netfix, box sets and much more I'm told ;).
Plus I just pay for an upgrade being a 25 year so for me and my grandson to sit together we have to pay for a season ticket plus the suite hospitality.
Good luck to who ever's is trying to sort this out and being fair to supporters.

And that's the tricky part Dave, someone is always going to be aggrieved if they can't get THEIR seat.
