If nothing else, it all appears to have moved the discussion away from the handling of the ongoing corona virus. That’s not to say the discussion shouldn’t be had, of course it should, but it seems to be a bit of a distraction, also setting people on each other. Just to get stuck in here, its never about erasing history. No one is going through every single book and deleting their names from history. Its about admiring people who by todays standards would be locked up for crimes against humanity. Whilst you are correct at the time yes it was normal, it shouldnt be celebrated today. I am NOT saying that he shouldn't be up there. I'm am just explaining from the other side.


And with regards to 'blackface' and other things thats a changing of the times. I'm not a fan of censoring things as it shows the culture of the time. (Friends has poor attitudes towards being gay but it was 25 years ago! )
