Given the fact that people are scared to even go to work it is going to be hard to convince people to attend a football match.
Of course before it is allowed to resume stringent measures will be in place and then it will be up to the individual whatever age or for that matter state of health to decide if they want to go.

    You're missing the point.

If football or sport want gatherings back quicker the they have to come up with ideas.

If the government keeps this we follow the science then we no crowds are happening next season until 2021 at the earliest.

It's amazing how self centred some of the over 70's are on here. It would be a short term measure to get fans back. We want everyone back but we can't ignore the facts of the death rate age group due to this virus.

Bang on the money, you cant just stop a certain age group attending.
Our resently departed friend Chris struggle to get to games because of his health and he wasnt 70, I suggest he wasnt by himself yet 70 year olds with no health problems are banned, also as in mine and Chris's case we both took our grandsons my grandson is old enough to attend by himself but McKenzie may not want to go alone.
When I apply for my season ticket will they check my age and refuse me a ticket, it would be a massive logistic nightmare.

Don't worry. I've read or seen nothing anywhere which suggests that over 70's will be banned from attending football matches in the future whenever the schedule is resumed. Well, other than the constant ranting from a couple of self-centred crackpots on here whose 'advice' seems to be at odds with the Govt's own current specialist advice from its professional public health and medical experts.

The problem stems from ford's own insecurity he is scared of anything over 3ft and over 70.

I don’t have access to any information as to the age of City fans, as the club have stopped issuing ‘Over 60’s’ Season Tickets, the data may not be as readily available. However I would anticipate that a significant number of City fans, are in or about to reach enhanced risk group, due to their age.

If they cannot or do not feel safe to return, then a reduction of say 3,000 Season Ticket holders, would be a huge dent in the club’s finances and would impact on the match day experience.

Where I sit there are several groups, which are inter generational, i.e. Grandparents/Parents/Children/ They may also think twice about going. Often it is the grandparents who are the driving figures, as parents have a lot of issues to sort out.

Would you still let's me come to your ritual of a pre game drink at the Bee Hive and we could have a post match drink where you can give me a report on the game, maybe one way around it is us over 70 carrying a bell and chanting "unclean" that will keep others away.

We could all be caged in top tier of Bradford end where we can freely cough and splutter over each other and disinfected on the way in or should that be on the way out....

I think that, you are right, in that we may well see a reduction from 2 metres to 1 metre, at least outdoors anyway. On that basis, a seating plan might just allow 25% of seats to be occupied. However, managing such arrangements will be complicated and expensive.

Assuming that, the problems can be overcome then, without a vaccine, some people will opt to watch all matches on iFollow (assuming that is allowed); so attending 1 in 2 matches for the remainder should be numerically possible.

I do wonder, when clubs get down to the logistics and costs of such an approach, whether any will want to go to the bother. I still think, at least until the likelihood of an effective vaccine (or not) becomes clearer that, for Leagues One and Two, a comprehensive iFollow package is the way forward. It will be a bit more complicated for the Premier League and Championship because of the television contracts, but I'm sure a way forward can be found.

It has for you as you've spent every minute of the lockdown on here talking b#llocks instead of finding other ways to keep you occupied.

Been right about everything and I am right about this.

If this lockdown was about saving lives then over 70's shouldn't be allowed to any mass gatherings until a vaccine is found

Totally missed the point ? But there has to be a starting point. The EFL cannot get into squabbles over oh ? Hes 69 and hes 70 so why can one go and one cannot. Its a TEMPORARY measure. The 70s and olders are more susceptible full stop. Thats what the Govt and the Science says. It sucks that someone who is 69 could go but a 70 year old could not but you have to make a start somewhere otherwise the game at this level and below is finished. The club needs bums on seats. Also the question of children; to effectively Police and manage the return of fans initially sadly Under 18s need to be excluded again temporarily. For them its not as engrained to go to live football anyway at their age. Many think FIFA 2020 is "football" and going to a live game is something out the "dark ages". They dont have the emotional attachment to the game that you or I do.

Lets keep together on this and understand its not about you; I or any group in particular. Its about getting back to watching live football; showing it can be done safely and us all sacrificing something temporarily to back the club and the game at L1 and below. It can be done and I am sticking firmly to being in a seat watching City in October !
