So, as it looks increasingly likely that we wont be able to go to Valley Parade to watch City on a Saturday afternoon for many months to come, will the enforced absence make us pine for City as time goes on, or will we get used to doing other things and drift away from the club, never to return?

Personally, I think I will definitely yearn for my Saturday afternoons at Valley Parade, especially when Autumn beckons in September.

Will we see the end of 14000k season ticket holders as fair weather fans drift away completely and realise they didnt miss it, or will we get a swell of fans desperate to watch live football.

Be interesting to get views on here

Depends on the team we put out... get some decent players in then yes I will miss watching

Carry on with the current clowns then no

I think people will get out of the habit of it, especially if they're not 100% comfortable in big crowds even when its allowed.

It will largely depend on how well the team do, as always.

My love for football has certainly diminished recently. I think it will take a bit of effort on my part to get back into it.

Football was a big part of my life, couldn't imagine being without it yet, although I've missed it, I haven't missed it half as much as I thought I would.

Spending more time with the family, actually paying attention rather than keeping half an eye on them and half an eye on the game on TV etc.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I feel football wont play as big a part of my life than it did when everything returns to normality.

I’ve not missed football on TV one bit, but I have missed the crap down at VP. Even when we’re garbage the whole Saturday is my favourite day of the week, meeting mates, the walk to VP, the moaning or every now and then the feeling of joy over a great win can’t be replicated by staying at home on a Saturday or going shopping.

I’ll be back there as soon as possible and it’ll be a massive step to feeling normal again and feeling like the nightmare is over, even if it’s a bunch of young Bradford lads who have to take to the field with Mr Bradford City managing them I’ll support them all the way.

As for TV, not sure I’ll waste money getting sky sports back as I’ve not missed it at all.

For now though bigger things to worry about, but I’d love to worry about getting pumped to Salford again.

I agree and to large extent you can tell from the reduced posts on BT if it's not about football posters are not getting involved with the forum as much, lets hope once we do get back to playing most fans will not have lost their enthusiasm.

Some will probably lose interest initially it’s only natural when something is out of your mind so long. But when this virus is history months down the line is bet a lot of people who lost interest will think one boring Saturday I might head down to VP and take in a game, maybe even take the kids. All it takes is a good day out and the interest can start to come back, it isn’t all about what’s on the pitch either for many people. It could be getting a few pre match drinks or a meal with friends/family or just a change of scenery from the house.

You have hit the nail on the head for me there Wilsden. I cancelled my Sky Sports subscription a few years ago, and didn't miss it, except for Cricket in the summer actually. I have BT Sports, and actually enjoyed watching the non league football they show on there, and the Champions League, but just dont miss watching our Premiership at all

However, I have really missed the Saturday afternoon routine of either watching City or torturing myself listening to abject performances away from home on the wireless. Its funny how, as with many day to day things, we took it for granted. When something is taken away from you abruptly, its amazing how you miss it, whether the fare on offer was poor or good, its all part and parcel of being a loyal fan of your local football league club.

I for one, cannot wait for the return of live football at Valley Parade. I just hope we survive the coming months, one way or another

I’ve not missed it, but that’s down to us not actually playing if we were playing and I was missing games I think I would miss going, though depends on how we are performing

Tbh I haven’t watched much PL football for a good 10 years. I mainly watch Cricket, Golf and Premier League darts or championship football. The only thing I’ve missed about it so far was the masters as I love watching the majors. I’m gutted for cricket this season as well as a good friend of mine is from the West Indies and we try watch a match or 2 together when we play each other, all though it was torture watch the 20/20 world final in 2015 with him!

I haven't missed the football at all but i have missed the routine of the day. I have missed away days far more, Valley Parade had become a dull affair over the last season or two.

Have missed the social side of the typical VP Saturday
A few drinks following a hearty full English was as much part of the day as the actual match itself
A lot of fans will have already found an alternative way to spend a Saturday which will shortly become the "norm" for them
It's up to the club to produce a team worthy of breaking that routine as to whether we all attend as we did-pre virus
Failure to do that will pretty much push the club over the edge financially largely depends on Mr Rupps intentions

Been going to VP since 65 , seen some very good and very poor City teams down the years . Witnessed all the ups and mainly downs in this time . Since the Wembley defeat and the seasons since it's becoming harder and harder to go to VP , i travel a fair distance and visit my family as well as the game . To be fair i actually miss the pre-game meet ups on North parade more than the game , VP as been a large part of mine and many others live's down the years . I will still go( it's in the blood ) but like other's have pointed out most off our current fan base is the newer fans . These will take a lot of persuading to return , and the longer it goes on the worse it will get , worrying times for me and more importently the Club . Stay safe everyone .

I was half done anyway. The fact I haven't missed it, makes my decision. Unless this club organises itself properly and shows some ambition, I'll have other things to do with my time.

That's sad mate when you hear from fans as yourself and many more who frequent this forum saying they may not return, there is nothing we can compare the present situation with, but I'm not writing you off just yet ;).

I think there were a lot of supporters on the brink after Rahic and Bowyer and wouldn't be surprised if this carry on today hasn't pushed quite a few over the edge.....

Maybe its just me, yes its not always been great watching the club and Im sure at times its more a loyalty thing rather than product on the pitch, and yes maybe I'm easily please but I can't see me not attending Bradford City games when sadly the likes of Ron has had that opportunity taken from him.
I'll be going without doubt and I hope to be sharing a beer or two with faces from off here.

Ive spoke to a few City fans I know this past week through work and pleasure and none of them currently own a season ticket for various reasons.

Same as above except i've been done for about 18 months, several nails have been fired in the coffin since but this one looks to be the knockout blow. However if a new Bradford City from scratch was formed i could warm to that but certainly not the current shambles.
