I really believe our lot are playing it by ear, I can't see how you can predict where this is going to go, there are no experts on Earth that fully understand this killer..to get it anywhere near right we are going to have to be patient ..

Lets just leave it in the hands of Piers Morgan. Cos like, he knows better than any expert. Another c**t like Alistair Campbell who seem to have selctive memory loss when it comes to huge f*ck ups.

Yes you can. Originally it was thought you couldn’t but after much waiting it was clarified that you could.

They're all the same, the Guardian has nutjobs like Carole Cadwalladr spouting crap. All as bad as each other when it comes to point scoring.

Stopped buying newspapers 50years ago. They only do one thing, sell news stories, I think that says it all.

You are correct but it also runs a lot deeper than that.

Many Universities are heavily invested in developing their campuses, in many cases to provide accommodation for foreign students. The University I worked at has just completed a phase of their development, which when I left was budgeted at £130m. Replicate that sort of thing across maybe 50-60 higher education institutions across the UK and you have a massive problem of the higher education sector just not being able to service repayments on these investments without the overseas income.

I take your point @YungNath@YungNath about the priority being given to overseas students. However, when the switch in the fees was made, turning Universities into private businesses effectively, then that became a necessary approach in a very competitive world market.

It will be interesting to see how higher education changes over the next year or so. It is a sector that is going to be particularly badly hit.

I read some figures on bbc site in this article(it's interesting but for me hightlights why we need to end the lockdown and like the over 60/70's just stay in lockdown until vaccine is found)

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52403772

This part caught my eye most....

Most deaths have been among older people.. as I keep saying. Over 60's

Coronavirus is a mild illness for most - it is estimated only about one in 20 cases that develop symptoms need hospital treatment.

There have been cases involving health workers, younger adults and children, but the virus has - as expected - preyed largely on older people, particularly the frail and those with existing health problems.

Data from hospitals in England last week showed more than nine in 10 deaths have been in the over-60s and there is a similar picture in the rest of the UK.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has also looked at the deaths, analysing what proportion had pre-existing health conditions.

Again, more than nine out of 10 did, with the average between two and three. Heart disease was the most common.

People in their 60's now should be locked up for their own good then Fordy?

Thanks for that, I will let my employer know today that I cannot come to work later this summer after I turn 60.

No need to renew my season ticket then too?

    Scotland here I come
