It is with great sadness to learn of the passing of lifelong City fan Alan Drake from Covid-19.

Drakey was a founding member of East Bierley supporters club.

RIP and deepest condolences to his family and friends

I have known Drakey for over 30 years, through a good friend of mine (Peelie) who worked with Alan then took over the business when Alan retired. Went to many a sportsman’s dinners with him and have fond memories. He was a top bloke, a massive Bradford City fan, and a true City Gent. RIP Alan. God bless you.

We lived two doors from Alan in Harden for a few years late 80s early 90s. Super guy, quiet and modest but with all the black humour of a City fan. Seen him a few times at VP a very young 80 year old lost to something he could never have anticipated. Bless you Alan, RIP.

A sad reminder how indiscriminate this virus is and the toll it takes on so many families. I wish all of us a safe passage through this and take a moment this Easter to reflect on having more regard and better understanding of others. Stay safe fellow Bantams.

Did he have a son called David? I went to school with a city fan called David Drake that lived in Wilsden on the Harden side. Alan would be the right age to be a dad or uncle.
