With some people having a bit more time to themselves at the moment just wondered whether some were reading more.

I usually have a novel on the go anyhow

I have just started reading Desperation Road by Michael Farris Smith.

Whats everyone else reading at the moment?

The institute by Stephen King. Not bad so far, as strange as ever for one of his books. Read To Kill a Mockingbird before, always a great read.

To Kill a Mockingbird is still one of my all time favourites.

The Stand being my favourite Stephen King book. A topical book to read at the moment if you have not already read

Not read it, I’ll take a look. Novel's aren’t usually my thing tbh, just saw it at number 1 in ASDA a few months ago. Prefer history, preferably ancient.

I've just started to read Hilary Mantel's trilogy of Thomas Cromwell starting with Wolf Hall.

My other half loved the first two volumes (bought for her as a pressie by yours truly) because she's intrigued by the life and times of Henry VIII. But she then passed them onto her mates! So I then had to buy them again online for my own purposes. Bloody charming!

I've just read Circe by Madelaine Miller. A retelling of some of the Greek myths and legends, from the perspective of a Greek goddess. I really enjoyed it.

Currently ploughing through a Scandinavian crime novel, Fog Island. Not particularly original but relaxing.

Also wading through a Steven Pinker book on linguistics.

I pick up a lot of interesting history / science / general knowledge books from the bargain tables at the shops; I'm just about to finish Ian Mortimer's The Time Traveller's Guide to Restoration Britain. He's written a few in that vein -- what would it be like for one of us if we were to be dropped back into a certain period of the past. He writes interestingly, and well.

Perhaps more useful would be a volume on D.I.Y. hair-cutting, but I haven't seen one yet! How shaggy will we all be when we can finally get back to a barber?

Love that period of history. I tried getting into Wolf Hall a couple of times, unfortunately, couldnt get into Hilary Mantel's style of writing

I am considering re-reading my almost complete works of Dickens, it will certainly pass some time. Found a lot of them have quite a similar plot to them (poor boys made good).
There are a few books I haven't got, may try to search them out.
Tale of Two Cities probably my favourite, quite an emotional read.

If you’re into WW2 history have you read any of Damien Lewis’ books on it?

I ilke Robert Harris. He doesn't get the recognition he deserves despite his best sellers. I'd recommend most of his earlier stuff - Fatherland, Archangel, Enigma, The Ghost, for example . They all have an alternative history theme mixed in amongst a version of the 'facts'. And both Pompeii and Conclave are on my 'to read' list.

Read them all - with the exception of The Ghost. I enjoy his writing style.
Finished Enigma on Wednesday, didn’t think it was one of his better works, still not a bad read though.
