Corn Dolly Trip & Stephen Darby

I just cant help but think entailing the input of former hero’s such as Jones and Darby into what next year looks like for this club, wouldn’t be a bad idea. Acting as consultants, characters such as these (and i throw Mason into that bracket as well) wouldn’t let the tripe that has happened at this club occur again.

 

Typical, was on the train rather than Dolly bus for this one... although my youngest did bump into one of his school friends when we were in the Footy Museum...not quite the same really!!

 

TBF, if one of our greatest legends and their current manager telling them they are playing for their futures doesn’t motivate them, I’m not sure a few words from the likes of Jones and Darbs will make a difference. The players simply do not have the desire to stand up and be counted. Only 1 player puts in 100% every week; the rest simply stop trying once they feel it’s going against them.

In the T&A, Parker suggests that Wood and AO’C should be safe from the end of season cull, but I’d be happier if the latter went too. Yes, he’s our best centre back, but he’s one of the first to look disinterested when we concede. Stuart has a massive job on his hands this summer.

 

After yet another ‘Mellor’ showing yesterday, I’m not even sure Darby being in his pomp would be needed. The number of times that Mellor passed the ball out of play yesterday was embarrassing for a professional footballer. Was he looking at the stewards in their fluorescent bibs and thinking they were away shirts.

And when he didn’t have the ball, his defending or more the lack of it, was simply unacceptable. I think someone defended him last week and said he isn’t as bad as some make out. I can’t recall who it was, but said there aren’t that many L2 defenders head and shoulders better than him. Really?????

 

For AOC, it’s probably his beginning of season form that proves he has the ability and therefore will still be here. Get the right man by his side and I think you have a decent CB.

However ironically when asked Andy Kiwomya said a returning POC should replace AOC - take of that what you will!!

 

I agree that AO’C has the mist ability out if our centre backs. My concern with him is that he lacks desire/motivation once it starts going sour. And I’m not even referring to ‘armband gate’. Just watch his body language and you see a player not throwing his body in the way and when we score, he just walks back looking at the ground. Doesn’t speak to the others around him, he just accepts it.

That’s why he had to go too, in my opinion

 

Yeh Dave, think you posted a couple of weeks ago...have 3 tickets for it!!

 

Think you will find both those are contracted for next season already.

 

Dave , you could argue that against the wages for Mellor and Henley combined Caddis would maybe have worked out cheaper and there he is top of the League with Swindon.
Talking of right back (in old money), in our fantastic start to season 16/17 when we starting behind the eight ball with squad size and injury, SM played a stand-in full back who was actually stand-out with his performances. Gets stick on here, Danny Devine. Strong tackler, can win a ball in the air. Sadly think he might be injured but if not he can't be any worse.

 

If Danny Devine is the answer to any of our problems then this club is in serious trouble. He is woeful.

Mellor and Henley are certainly not good enough for Bradford City and letting Caddis go was a massive mistake.

 

This is a good point. Who'd want to play next to AOC? All he does is berate others all game, the Salford second goal yet another example. All him and BRE do is argue.

 

AOC had a good start to the season but now he's showing that he can't play how McCall wants. He lacks concentration and basic football knowledge. The amount of goals he's cost us recently is shocking. He's not a leader and for me needs to leave.

Not good enough at all.
