I park on Hillam Rd and walk on Midland Rd to and from the game, I have seen 2 potentially very serious incidents of this type, did not see the one on Saturday. We walk on the pavement where the parked cars provide a barrier because at some point in the near future somebody is going to get seriously hurt here and everybody will then ask why was this allowed to happen. You are correct in saying if this happened in London then it would be treated as a major incident, in Bradford there appears to be no consequences for the driver even though the Police are informed.

What a shame it would be if someone accidentally fell into the car with a massive brick on the way to football.

I certainly couldn't condone such outrageous behaviour.

Jump in a car, drive on Leeds Road a couple of times and you'll be able to answer the question for yourself.

I’m presuming there must be a cost attached to getting by the road closed or the club would ask and make a point of saying the council had refused

Believe me, i saw it and my son and his friend were with me.
I would do anything to protect my son
a brick through that cars window is the least severe punishment ive been contemplating after witnessing the total disregard for people and endangerment to life.
@Nottsy@Nottsy These guys were taking the piss, acting the big iam and driving up a 20mph road at maybe 45mph isn't getting your point across about the lack of access around VP on matchdays, its attempted murder.

No mate, we prefer trial by social media, and dishing out our own justice on here. Of course it makes us all the better people.

I take your point mate. But it’s not attempted murder. If he really wanted to cause harm, he would’ve done.

Reckless stupid idiotic dangerous with no regard for other people this was the third time I have seen it how long before one of the idiots hurts or worse kills someone. It’s time to have police on duty to deter this

As much as I agree with you, I don't imagine the police becoming involved until a member of the public, ie one of us leaving VP, makes them aware of these incidents particularly on Midland Rd. And that goes back to @Hoochy-Min@Hoochy-Min's post above ... Has anybody who witnessed this latest incident reported it to the police?

There's an issue on this road after nearly every single home game. I can't fathom why anyone would want to try and drive up that road on a Saturday tea time when City have been at home. You're pretty much forced to walk on the road up that street because of people parking on the kerb and other obstacles, but the lovely locals of Manningham think nothing of driving up the road at normal speed limit despite hundreds of people congregated and jockying for position.

Easy enough to take a detour. It's not rational
to try driving down a crowded street.

It will end up in tragedy if this continues.

The simple answer is to close Midland road completely for 30minutes after the match between its junctions of Queens Road and Hamm Strasse including all side roads that enter it along that stretch. If anyone who parks on Midland road objects to this then find somewhere else to park.
The pavements aren’t wide enough to allow 15000 people to get away from the stadium.
For anyone that travels to away games they’ll know it’s very common for surrounding roads to be closed after the game until fans have dispersed

Completely agree, there is no reason for anyone to be using Midland Road for 30 minutes after a game apart from to vacate the area.
