Newport County V City (Saturday 22/2/2020)

For the most part, it was the sort of league 2 game you're always going to see on that sort of pitch and in that weather.

Until our goal we were ok, generally. Then we seemed to switch off, stopped defending and 15 mins of being properly rubbish cost us the game.

Second half we were better and credit to McCall, he improved the performance after the break and with his subs.

Bottom line, too much of the squad needs reworking. Obviously, you dont give in but the next 2 months need to prioritise being ready for an overhaul in the summer.

 

I am trying to remember when he put in 5 minutes!!

 

I bet his wife substitutes him every night for lack of effort and staying power

He gives up before he gets his kit off!!! For us he gives up when he gets his kit on!!

 

By the time he’s sorted his feet out the ball is not there. Even if he was any good I would not play anybody who can only give you 70 minutes. But nobody had a good game today.

 

There may be a few miserable years to come.

 

I think the club has arrived at a significant point in its history and without some serious reevaluating we could be heading into the abyss

I’ve never been so disillusioned with the club from top to bottom. I’m seriously worried about season ticket sales next year. What is so depressing is looking at the young lads and lasses who went today totally hacked off, it wouldn’t surprise me If they just called it a day, I mean what’s the point in going and supporting this excuse of a team.

Why do we get so much wrong at Bradford City

 

I doubt you will be troubled next season for seat selection.

 

I think most have gathered that but you enjoy yourself, at least when the likes of @Fordy117 are having a go it's from his heart where as yours and a few others who only post after a poor performance just hide.

 

None of the current squad are fit to wear the shirt. Get rid of the lot !!

Completely agree. This club will go nowhere without some serious changes. We're at a cross roads and we need to decide whether we want to grow the club or resign ourselves to being at the lower end of the professional pyramid indefinitely

 

I know Rogered only trying to be positive.

 

Listening to McCall, he knows he has inherited a bunch of soft bottlers, with a concerning lack of quality. Problem is, I dont think there is a lot he can do about it until the summer now

About an hour in, I resigned myself to the fact that we simply arent good enough to go up. I wrote off the result and started to watch the game for any signs of encouragement. Might sound like scraping the barrel, but there were a couple. The intent was there - we tried to play on the front foot, we were getting bodies into the box, DMH and POC in particular showed spirit. AoC should stay at right back - he looked much better than either Henley or Mellor do.

We need to be realistic. A huge rebuild is needed, McCall needs to be backed in the summer to make big, big changes to the squad.

 

Our performance was about as bad as Man City’s kit. What the hell is that ? I’ve never seen the like. City’s kit I mean.

 

At least Stuart has discovered what we all knew. Henley is the worst right back at this club in living memory

I'm happy for you lot to cheer me up, by coming out with some worse ones!!!

 

Never be ashamed of our club, we have little input to what happens there, we either give our support or stay away, it's certainly not pleasurable watching games these last two seasons and I didn't fancy another season in this division but we have no divine right to be anywhere else, we have to earn that, and unfortunately this shower don't look like they can get a result.
Before the game that looked a very attacking starting 11 but it looked to me no body wanted to take on any responsibility, from back to front we looked a very poor side.
