39 points to play for and I’d say we need a minimum 20 to make 7th place.

Tough games ahead both home and away. Where will we gain these points?

I think if we can get 4 points these next 2 games and with the pitches improving hopefully and Stuart and Kenny getting their training and points across then anything is possible.
We've seen more in these last 2 games than in 3 months.
Also its a very tight division.
We are in the battle between 3rd and 9th.
Everyone below i think has ahd it. Swindon and Exeter will have enough for top 2.

Depends which City we see over the next 3-5 games. Play like we did first half last night, and we could be out of the game by half time.

Start in the same manor as we did in the second half then we have a chance of getting something from any game.

The more time Stuart & Kenny can get with the players in training, the better. Absolutely have to build on last night this coming Saturday. It will be a test, on top of our poor away form. However we have the players to impact games. Over to the management team.........

Still curious as to where Devitt has been last two games?

Just 1 game, he missed the Oldham game through suspension but has failed to make the squad since.

On previous form we wouldn't make it.

All about our form under Stuart now: hopefully we're capable

    Last five seasons, 7th place had 71 - 75 - 70 - 75 - 71... average of 72.4 points needed.

Would preferably like to have a good run early as we end the season with Exeter (A), Colchester (H), FGR (A), Crewe (H), Northampton (A) and finish with Walsall (H). 3 of those 6 will be pushing for the top 3, good chance 1 maybe 2 will be pushing for PO's if Forest Green can change their fortunes.

In 2013, didn't we beat Northampton second to last game of the season to seal a PO spot?

Here's some points milestones/requirements -- Copied from my 10-game segments thread.

Some points landmarks (since 3 points for a win):

49 points: should mean safety -- to date 48 the highest points total for the bottom side
66 points: lowest points total for a 7th-placed side (range 66-79)
75 points: lowest points total for a 3rd-placed side (range 75-91)
79 points: to date has guaranteed at least a playoff spot
82 points: lowest points total for the champions (range 82-102)
91 points: to date has guaranteed auto-promotion

So we should be safe, barring some bizarre circumstances -- I can't see Stevenage getting 30 more points this season... The guaranteed auto-promotion total is now beyond us, though an excellent run may still see us end up in the top-3. The playoffs seem a more likely possibility, but, we do need to increase our current points-per-game pace. Too many draws in that third 10-game segment have been damaging, even though we managed to avoid losing a lot.

Put it another way. Stevenage are well below the point a game mark, and if we lost every game we’d still be 5 points about a point a game.

they won’t get 40 points and it’s impossible we’ll be relegated, not even worth mentioning.

Also Macclesfield still have 4 points deduction suspended which will most likely to activated after their match against Plymouth was postponed so they are likely to get that and possibly another 6 points deducted again which if it did happen would see them on 19 points most likely meaning it will only be a 2 horse race for safety between Macclesfield and Stevenage. Even if we didn't pick up another point i think we'd still finish at least 20th.

Not even considering we could reach 79 points so let’s hope somewhere between 68-72 will be enough and looking at the fixtures even that will be tough.
I wanna check my seat is ok at Wembley

Blast! I thought I'd gotten away with it...

Yes; we'd need to win 9 or 10 of our final 13, which is not a feat I'd put money on. Last time we were down here we got into the playoffs with 69; I wouldn't be surprised if something in the 70s will be needed this season.

I just can’t see it I’m afraid. McCall is talking about giving everyone a chance to shine so I can’t see us having a settled side for some time something I think we would need to finish top 7.

To have any chance we have to start to pick up wins away and on recent performances that is a long way off, Stuart will improve us no doubt but he’s not a magician.

we struggled for long periods on Tuesday against the worst team in the league, never mind the the points it would take a big uplift in player performance levels to achieve a play off spot. People need to look at our form over the last 3 months not necessarily our current position.

As someone has stated above we have plenty of games to play against play off rivals but I see that as one positive in that if we can somehow drastically improve we will take points off these teams.

You can't see us making the play offs?

That's pretty bleak considering how long it took to fall out in the first place.

The play off sides aren't picking up points very quickly, and drawing every week was insurmountable for some of the chasers for quite a while!

I fear we'll be just short of playoffs but this next run of games will be key. Especially now stuart and kenny have had some more time to see what they're dealing with. For example hoping Guthrie isn't nailing down a first team place any time soon

We may of dropped out of the play offs but some of our best
endings to a season have been coming up on the rails and just
getting into the play off's and then winning and getting promotion.

Ask Exeter how they went into meltdown and we caught them!
