I can just see one miserable face in Gibson. I would look like that if I had his footballing ability knowing I wouldn't be getting a game.

Maybe not an enforcer, in the Micky Kennedy mold. But he played Cullen or Vincelot at DCM and both could tackle better than any of the current crop of CM lightweights.

He would have been in the youth setup that's all during 2007 - 2010.

We need more quality in midfield. A couple of options from the free agent market:

Probably out of our range but Tom Carroll was released by Swansea last week. Still has no club.

Carl McHugh was converted to a defensive midfielder during his time in scotland. Went to play in the Indian Premier League last summer but was released end of December. Still has no club. No idea whether he's back in the UK but could be a good short term option.

I'm always a bit sceptical about players playing in pub leagues abroad for a certain time. Essentially a well paid jolly up and they don't make any developments to their game as it's a walk in the park. Potentially a good option though as can play centre half as well. Would much prefer him to BRE at the left hand side at Centre Half, he's woeful.

I suppose Vincelot wasn't a brute, though he was the ball winner when he played in their with Cullen. Not like McCall himself was or Gary Jones was though, so I take the point.

Looks like McCall is pointing out where he doesn't want to see the ball.

    Welcome back Stuart.

I was seriously considering not attending on Saturday against Grimsby before Bowyer was sacked. I cannot recall ever missing a weekend home game other than been away on holiday or weddings or illness. However, I cannot wait for Saturday now. Should be a great atmosphere with Grimsby bringing the biggest away support of the season too.

Good luck to Stuart and Kenny

I hope your not suggesting that nice Mr Rahic interfered in any way the last time he was here, and McGod worked with one arm tied behind his back.
Just been down at Rawdon Meadows unfortunately Stuart must have been doing his press work but Kenny Black was there along with around 20+ City fans and most were saying if nothing else Stuart will bring most aspects of our club together you'll always have a few of the ant-Christ mob but lets raise the roof on Saturday and try and generate positivity that has been missing at Valley Parade for the last 24 months

Love Stuart but can't help but think this is a fan pleasing appointment and a season ticket promotional push. With that squad he should be able to get us into the play offs and possibly an auto spot, fans will be back, season tickets will now start to sell and the owners will be happy again. Job done for them.

Think this goes back to a couple of conversations over the last couple of weeks about the club and its ambition. It doesn't seem to have one, doesn't have a vision or a belief that they can push on and move the club in the right direction. Its like they are running the club day to day and making sure things are ok, carrying on as normal with no real direction.

The communication is still shocking as a whole, the supporters meetings are still happening with is a positive but the lack of noise from Rupp and Rhodes is pretty shocking. They are relying on Ryan Sparks who is now the victim of the lack on communication from the top.

Same mate. I doubt I would of gone of Saturday or until Bowyer had gone. I had enough of him and his dire football.

Now, I look forward to Saturday. I am not rushing to renew my season ticket though as Rhodes and the Rupp still need to make key decisions but about themselves.

However, bring on Hanson and Clarke. Let's beat Grimsby and kick on.

I agree, but I think our lack of planning is purely down to short terminism. Stefan wants out as soon as possible, Julian is only temp and can’t seem to find a CEO that would be good for the club. This leaves the club in a predicament. However, if Stuart can galvanise the squad and get us into league 1 either this season or the next things might change in terms of we might be able to attract an owner who is willing to take us to the next level.

I believe that conversation will have been had, I believe Stuart knows exactly what Julian & Rupp want of him this season, to get the squad back believing in themselves, and short term I believe he is the right candidate to do that, time will tell.
