Livid but right. He put his hand on his back, and when he slowed down he got a gentle shove in the back. Soft but a foul

Dmitry has not put it on the forum yet but that's the best source for previous games.

Mistake by the keeper cost us the goal and the win, Pushing a shot out in a crowded area is always likely to be put straight back past you, Poor keeping

That's completely wrong, it was a great save to a shot he saw late, we sit right behind it. Nothing else he could do with it at such short range.

The real crowd last night might have been 7000 maybe. Letting it be known on the eve of the match that you were selling or should I correct that to loaning out your two strikers is hardly an inducement to turn out on a bitterly cold night. Say what you like about bringing back Stuart but I guarantee 100 per cent turn out for his first match, pride and passion restored and the team attempting to play good football. He couldn’t do worse than Bowyer. That’s not intended as a backhanded compliment either. I think he’d galvanise the whole club. He never had a prayer last time. I can imagine VP rocking again with him in charge and a couple of good signings of players who want to wear the shirt. Worst case scenario: Bowyer stays and nobody wants Vaughan after considering his track record of flitting off. (Flitting is the word that will get by the censors )

Slightly harsh. came through players from short range at pace. When straight (ish) at you at pace sometimes harder to push out to the side than if you have to dive sideways. Im sure he would think he thinks he could do better but its no different from someone not scoring from a reasonable chance

I guess its all opinions but I thought we nearly pulled it off yesterday. Even with 11 we're not gonna match a side in the possession stakes when their whole game is based on it. I'm not BowyerS biggest fan but I won't begrudge him a bit of credit for trying what he did. That said, the bar is very low at the moment, I want to see what the reaction is on Saturday. Another woeful away performance and its not gonna be pretty. Hopefully a signing or two to replace Doyle and the problematic Vaughan may everyone a lift.

I don’t think the keeper could do anything but block it at close range. I would not expect any keeper to have done more. That’s the type of goal you will concede when you’re under the cosh for 45 mins. Talking of the keeper however I couldn’t understand why he kept putting his goalkicks to the same right wing place even before Donaldson went off.

As you say even when we had 11 Cheltenham looked very good going forward, so once we went down to 10 and defended for our lives we dealt with most things but unfortunately the ball dropped right for May.
To say they had the possession they had their final ball at times was poor several sailing over the cross bar, without doubt Bowyer would have been the happiest of the two managers.

It was a deliberate tactic. Don't kick the ball down the middle where there is plenty of space in either direction for them to take advantage of the extra man. Instead kick it to the edge of the pitch where the touchline narrows the options and force everybody to crowd in. Their man advantage becomes less of an advanatge when so many are crowding around the ball. Straight out of the RFU coaching manual when a team has a man off the pitch.

I've no idea why he always used our right side.

Did anyone else spot their reserve goalie coming to the kop goal late on and placing a spare ball by the goal, I imagine to try and speed up the game.

    Shows how desperate they became.

Yes I appreciate that but he was doing it to Mellor in the first half even with Donno on the field. I mean if it was a tactic it was pretty well predictable since he did it every time. Gary Sprake brought that tactic into English football under Revie.

It ddn't happen in the first half before we lost Devitt. It was predictable and that's why it (sort of) worked. Cheltenham anticipated it and crowded around the ball reducing their own advantage.

Unless there’s been a change of rule that forbids it why didn’t our keeper waste a bit of time by ambling over to the other side and kicking it for a change to the other wing. And, as I posted last night) why did Bowyer bring two subs on at once rather than say a minute apart. I was very disappointed by our poor quality of time wasting!! (Tongue in cheek comment before anyone starts!)
