It was also Huddersfield v Leeds on Sat and I expect a lot of bobbies had their rest day cancelled and were diverted over to us from that game, which also kicked off earlier than ours.

Quite so Bantamlad. The Police classified this as a Category B match when A is the most serious. Newport Directors say there is a one coach hardcore who are really the bad boys which explains the 6 Police vans round the Bradford Arms. There were a number of minor incidents but the Police Intel and action stopped more, I'm sure. Sadly under the agreed rules we get the bill for Police working in the defined boundary of the ground, but as far as I know, not elsewhere.

 

Unless they ban them all there's nothing they can do. Bit like our lot travelling, unless they hand out bans to them all they'll travel.

Not sure these knuckleheads actually got to the game, as I posted the police were walking a group of around 30 or so down Nestfield Street turning left on Midland Road, I assume to the coaches, and they weren't kids.

 

they went to the turnstiles as we were walking on when they turned onto Midland Rd. It was all shouting, singing, filming each other, trying to look menacing and walk in a straight-ish line - which was the main problem it seemed.

 

It was after the game I saw them being escorted down Nestfield Street surely it would have been easier to police them inside the ground than outside.
