There seems to be only 1 person who believe's that price tag, but they were sold a pup at the time of their initial purchase

I don't think anyone does, not even Rupp. He is blind if he thinks the club is even worth what he paid for it. I think the point is it would take 10m to buy the club and provide the investment some are asking for....build a training ground etc

The club needs its own assets to protect itself.

I don't disagree with you. My point is I can't imagine anyone prepared to make the sort of investment that would be needed to grow those assets at today's Bradford City

    & that's why I couldn't take Edin & Rupp seriously and I can't take Mr Rupp seriously.

Makes it even worse when at first opportunity we make money we want to give him it back and then we want to always brake even.

A good owner is looking to build an infrastructure for the club and increase its value.

An owner being worth £150 million is pointless to us if that owner is unwilling to invest. You might as well own the club.

That might be your view but it isn't what @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler said in his post. Roger said that Rupp's asking price was £10mill. If Rupp gets his way (which I severely doubt), beyond handing £10mill over to Rupp, a new owner would then have to invest more money in the squad, new training facilities etc. It just isn't going to happen for either a Div 1 or Div 2 club. As I said in replying to Roger, it's just madness imo.

Rupp needs to come to his senses and to either drop his expectations in selling the club or to invest further in the club to take us forward. At this stage I don't see either of those happening. But failing that, the club will simply just tickover.

If that is the case then you are right but I'm not sure that is what Roger Owen was saying. I read it as 10m requiredto buy the club AND take it forward. I could be wrong. Perhaps @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler can clarify?

Why would Rupp sell when we look like we might go up?

Why would he invest heavily if it looks like we might even do okay at League One level?

If I were Rupp, I would neither sell nor invest massively without any real reason to do so.

And that's why I can't take him seriously.

@Dennis@Dennis couldnt have put it better by saying Bradford City are ticking over!

Like Lawn, Rhodes, Edin & Rupp the club won't be safe because we will always be at the hands of them as we just tick. We need a owner or owners that wants the best for the club and to build things. Lawn and Rhodes couldn't afford to do that and admitted it but no excuse for Mr Rupp.

Like I say you our anyone can do what Mr Rupp is currently doing and just watch us tick... we will always be bending over in that situation.

We need assets to protect the club.

Rupp may be asking for 10m but I’m sure he would be open to offers. When selling your house or business not many get the asking price

If the club is left to simply tick over, the fanbase we have built up will decrease season on season even at non league ST prices.
I’m confident we’ll go up this season but even league 1 isn’t good enough really. The Championship is where we ought to be and we need an owner who shares the same vision

League One MD Two doesn't require major investment to be successful.

The difference between Rupp and L+R is that if investment is needed in the Championship, Rupp has the money to put some in.

    Until then, it's wasting resources.

Unfortunately a Geoffrey Richmond only comes along to a team like Bradford City once in a life time, in my time of watching Bradford City he has been the only owners who showed any faith in us, trouble was he wanted to run before he could walk.

I do think we've had genuine owners who wanted the best for us but unfortunately very few had the money to chase their dreams and that certainly goes for Big Geoff, without the Rhodes family investment not sure we would have got the the Premiership, but that's another story.

The whole point is about getting us on the right track to success.

The rest is just superfluous nonsense.

Who owns our ground or where we happen to train don't matter to the enjoyment of supporting a team.

Us lucky fans who watched those 3 seasons between 1998 and 2001 (promotion season and 2 in PL should be very grateful to GR as it’s very very unlikely we’ll ever see top flight football at VP again in our lifetime.
