Yeah, that is a good album. Personally dont think their good albums ended with Sparkle, Once upon a Time and Street Fighting Years are still albums I regularly listen to

I assume they let him off as jailing him would have a massive impact on Jack Daniel's sales

For me it is Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call and NGD 81/82/83/84 before the tail off,
but Waterfront has a great riff to it.

Last time I saw them it cost £35.00 and the beer was six pounds a pint. Can you remember the prices back then??

    £6 a pint?..where and when?

Cant remember what I paid. My first wife who I was with then was a friend of Dave Ball from Soft Cell, and he used to recommend different local bands to us back then. I think Dave Ball was still doing stints as a DJ at The Warehouse in Leeds in those days too

Couple of years ago at The Albert Hall in Manchester. Great venue but the beer prices are outrageous.

That is pricey for a Northern venue. I believe they are currently in the middle of a world tour. Great to see good old bands like this still doing the business on the road

Oh yes, there are good songs on the later records, but for me the wholes aren't as consistently good anymore. Also, Forbes and MacNeil were vital to the sound.

I think the run of Real to Real Cacophony / Empires and Dance / Sons etc. / NGD / Sparkle in the Rain is as good an extended run as anyone has had. The sound kept changing in very interesting ways; later that didn't really happen anymore, at least for me. Real to Real is a criminally underrated record.

From little acorns mighty oaks grow...not quite Hunter and the Hunted, is it!

I was actually listening to the album - Thanks for the Dance - Puppets is taken from, yesterday. Brilliant listen if you like Mr Cohen's musings. Funnily enough though, I think Puppets is the weak link on the album

Saw the Libertines in Leeds last night. One of the best gigs I've been to in years. Pete Doherty was sober so he was on point. Highly recommend seeing them if you get the chance.
