Bradford City have completed the signing of midfielder Chris Taylor.

The 32-year-old’s move was initially prevented - following a registration issue - after the former Blackpool man made an appearance for Barrow AFC.

However, following further discussions with the EFL, it has been agreed that Taylor can now join the Bantams.

Taylor is fully eligible to feature in claret and amber and will do so up until at least the middle of January, having penned a new two-month contract.

No action will be taken against Bradford City as a result of Taylor’s appearance for Barrow in the FA Lancashire Cup.

Taylor said: "After one of the strangest periods in my life, I am delighted and over the moon to finally be a Bradford City player.

"I am looking to play my part in what will hopefully be a special season for the club.

"I honestly cannot wait to pull on the shirt and get going!"

Taylor will wear the No.29 shirt and could make his City debut in tomorrow evening’s Leasing.com Trophy fixture against Rochdale.

What a waste of money this is. Cooke is back from suspension, Akpan is doing fairly well, Pritchard is now a central player and in good form and Palmer is back in training. That's already 4 players ahead of him with possibly Reeves in at 5th choice too.

Any money left in the pot should've been going to making Cooke/Connolly deals permanent and bringing doyle back.

It’s only a two month deal right now so we can reassess in January. Sure we’d sign a forward if we could but presume there’s nobody good enough available right now.

Not to worry.. @Bronco@Bronco will still think sending Reeves out on loan wouldn't be a good idea.

So we now have about 6 midfielders plus Reeves.

    Think this is a waste.

if he can play the attacking midfield role then fair enough but Bolton fan i know say hes a waste of fresh air so we will have to see . two months to earn a longer deal so up to him to prove his worth !!

Complete waste of time signing while we're in a position where we can't offload.

How many poor back up midfielders does he need?

I don't think I will be by myself, it's only you who seems to think sending an injured player out on loan is a good idea, give your head a shake.

Your highlighted comment will be a great situation for Bowyer to find himself with, 7 midfield players now we've signed Taylor fit and only wanting 3 or 4 per game depending on the formation he wants to play, bring it on !!!.

It would be good to get Cooke and Connolly on permanent deals, but, just to be pessimistic (up to 35cm of snow forecast for here by tomorrow morning leads one to pessimism!): in a worst case scenario the loan players get recalled, or don't return as expected from injuries -- that could eliminate Cooke, Connolly, Devitt, and Palmer; Reeves might take longer than expected to return to form, or break down again, and Akpan, Anderson, and Devine might remain their inconsistent, frustrating, not quite front-rank-players selves. And all of a sudden, the currently overcrowded midfield desperately needs reinforcing, again.

A short-term deal that we can extend IN january, once we know which way things are going, seems alright to me.

Spot on. We had a central midfield of Akpan and Devine on Saturday with Anderson as backup. That's got to be concerning.
Every time we think we're getting close to fielding something like a first choice team we lose two or three players to injury or suspension and have to draft in players who most City fans don't rate as good enough.

If Taylor is better than Devine or Anderson then I think it's a worthwhile short term signing. Bowyer worked with him at Blackpool, I believe, so he must think he can do a job for us - presumably as holding midfielder deputy for Cooke. With all his L1 and Championship experience you'd think he should be fine in L2.
If we're suddenly blessed with an abundance of quality fit and firing CMs in the New Year then we can let Taylor go. But with fixtures piling up and heavy winter pitches ahead I think this is a sensible signing.

Don't understand the negativity around this signing. Bowyer obviously knows what he's about so I trust his judgement. Only 2 months so not overly committed if it doesn't pan out.

Seems a sensible bit of business to me whilst Palmer is still out. People bringing Reeves into the discussion are getting ahead of themselves considering how long he's been out of action. Devine and Anderson are poor so I think this deal suits us well.

You can't rubbish a signing before seeing the guy kick a ball! Remember that happening last season with Lewis O'brien and looking a bit silly afterwards!

Taylor is another one of Bowyers ex players the other are doing well I remember similar comments on Pritchard from Blackpool fans and he hasn’t done bad.
Taylor has a couple of months to impress let’s see how he does.
