Here's a weird thought. Maybe they'd play together sometimes?

What a strange post. Unless you're a time traveller I'd suggest you've no idea whatsoever if anyone will move on or not in January.

Alex he as gone no problems. My problem is paying up to 3 k(maybe) to watch it.....

Any other 13 goal maybe 20 goal striker would cost 100k ish or more or pay is full wages in January at least....

Why is it a strange post? If the likes of Patrick or any of the others who Bowyer doesn't play regularly haven't been moved on already they won't be going in January as their not playing regular here so no one will be looking at them thinking Yea we'll go for them in January. Like I said we are stuck with them.

Not been moved on in the summer and not playing regularly?

Sounds a bit like Jacob Butterfield before we signed him.

Some on here are getting carried away too early in my opinion
What happens if Doyle only scores another couple of goals in the next 2 months
would we be clambering for him to return then
Heavy grounds are rapidly approaching pitches more suited to Sunday league football will be commonplace does this suit Doyle/Swindons style of play (who knows)
Presumably the club are forward thinking enough to have an eye on L1 next season
Would Doyle be part of those plans (if we wanted to renew his contract)
There is more than one place up for promotion if we aren't confident enough to grab one of them with or without Doyle or whatever Swindon do then I fear we are a club still with problems
The standard of opponents I have seen so far (including Swindon) has been poor so let's go for it and not worry about Doyle or Swindon

If only it was that simple. Doyle has never looked like a 20+ goals a season striker whilst wearing a city shirt.

I don't know what formation Swindon play but clearly it suits Doyle.

If GB was to play a similar style to Swindon then I would say we have half a chance of Doyle scoring freely for us.

For me Doyle is obviously the problem. If you can bang in 3 goals a game you obviously have talent and there was plenty of opportunity created from our team to at least see him in one or two games show promise. I recall him being weak, poor ball control and effort levels of a stoned sloth. Let them pay his wages he wont perform if he comes back.

What a lovely problem to have a striker who's scored 13 from 16 appearances, no I agree, not merely is he scoring, according to media outlets Swindon are only paying a fraction of his wages.

That fraction is reported to be above half so whilst we may be paying some of his wages by loaning him out it has freed up over 2.5k a week which will have been used to bring in 2 or 3 players most likely players like Connolly and Cooke so although we lost 1 player who may or may not have scored goals we've gained at least 2 very influential players who massively improved the team.Sometimes you have to sacrifice something for the greater good of the team and letting Doyle go was that.
It doesn't matter how good or bad he's been at another club if he's not interested in playing for us then he won't perform how he is for Swindon. If City fans should have learnt anything from the last 12 or so months it's that quality is nothing if the attitude and commitment isn't there.

Can we draw a line under this Doyle debate.
Wellens has history of getting goals out of him because he plays him and to him exactly how he wants to be played.
He wouldn't score for us half what he has for Swindon as our style is based on our midfield controlling and winning us games, hence when Pritchard and Connelly are out we look flat and don't create much.
Play to Vaughan's strengths and he will score, but we dont. He's constantly 35 yards from the goal trying to bring others into play.
Doyle is better off at Swindon for us as well.
His value will be back around what we paid for him

Don't think I've disagreed with any of that in my previous posts regarding Doyle, but I'd suggest for a player who has virtually single handedly got Swindon to 5th in the league we should be saying to Swindon if you want to keep him stump up 100% of his wages and we can bring in 2 or 3 more players to boost our efforts to get out of the khazi league.

If in January Doyle is still free scoring and a Swindon are a threat to our promotion chances then I’d recall him regardless of whether he plays for us or even wants to play for us.
Yes, he’ll be unhappy but tough, he can run his contract down and go to Swindon for free in the summer.

Good thinking, lets send Cooke, Connelly, Palmer and Devitt back to their clubs to free up cash for Doyle to return.

    Or better still
Lets stop the obsession about this lower division journey man who happens to be on a purple patch at the moment.
There's more to getting out of league two than some prick at Swindon, that has no intention of giving his all for us.

Why would we have to send the loan players back?

Too many fans get sucked into the club telling them negative stories.

MR Rupp is worth 150m, we had the Mcburine money plus they would be 6 month left of wages to pay for Doyle.

    Risk v reward!

Look the bottom line is the deal of Doyle now looks a poor one. Swindon need now to cover all or at least 90% of his wages or we need to recall him in Jan.

Or as Ive posted earlier, explain to Stefan the situation with regards Doyle and put the hypothetical situation to him that Doyles goals might be a factor in Swindon getting a play off place at Bradford Citys expence.
Would Stefan be prepared to fund 6 months of Doyle full wages to make sure that senario cant happen.
We could tell Swindon he's on a free if they want to make a deal with him and make him a Swindon player.

It just would not work having him back, he doesn't want to be here, much like the dozen or so other players that we got shut of from last season...
