Why shouldn’t the fans dream and have a chant they can sing? After last seasons debacle I’m all for it. To play bang average and still pick up all 3 points, certainly gives a lot of fans hope that this could be our season

If people thought there was no noise/atmosphere yesterday, at least in the terracing, then they clearly didn’t go. I was standing in the thick of it and it was absolutely the best away game I’ve attended in a long time for atmosphere, and we go to a lot of games. Given the reaction of players like Connolly at full time, it seems it’s our vociferous away end that push the players over the finishing line and the players know that

Can’t wait for Macc just so me and the lad can have some more. Last season was truly depressing coming back up the M1 empty handed so I’m gonna savour it 100%

Don’t get me wrong I’m all for chanting, I sing loud and proud every game I just think that particular chant is a bit cringeworthy

I couldn’t get coverage of the game as I’m overseas and had issues trying to connect via the hotel WiFi. I just remember reading something last night that there was no atmosphere in the first half. Think it was on the match day thread.

I have since seen a few comments about the non-existent atmosphere in the seated area, so I’ll take their word for it. Just glad I opted for terracing if that’s the case

I can assure you us older fans certainly joined in with chants and were just as jubilant as you guys behind the goals.
The atmosphere at Morecombe was very good why do some (not you) need to start dissecting who supported the team better.

Quite right Broncs. The noise from the 1765 was great all afternoon and I know GB and the lads really appreciated it, as always. I was above and left of the seated area and the difference in level baffled your noise but not from behind the goal, just great and commented on by the Morecambe people several times. All on to Macc for a repeat unless they get wound up in the next week or so. Thanks to all for turning out. Do it again on 26th.

If that happened would all their matches played so far be null and void? Be good for us as Swindon and Exeter would both drop 3 points but not so great for Morecombe as it's the only game they've won this season.

I would think so. Newport also would loose a point.

What a shambles on the way home. Train goes to Lancaster then we have to switch trains for an extra carriage to pick up the stragglers. Absolute shambles of an operation. Police then getting arsey because the City fans are getting restless. What were they expecting wasting an hour going to Lancaster and back.

I've been on holiday so I've missed the Swindon and also the Morecambe game. Sounds like we are getting things together. We just need to keep playing the same team and we will keep picking up results. Cooke, Connolly & Pritchard look great signings - I take my hat of to Mr Bowyer. I wasn't his biggest fan after he kept chopping and changing early doors but now he's found a good starting 11 I can forgive him!!! Joking aside, I'd probably put Vaughan in for Donaldson next week if I was going to make any changes.

Did any of the Morecambe people mention the flares? If so I hope you mentioned their security like every other clubs we’ve played so far have failed to stop them, I usually get checked at every away ground so I’m interested to know how these people get them in? Personally the flares don’t bother me, but I hope the club don’t get fined for it?

You’re fighting a losing battle trying to stop it, its become part of the away culture now.

I don’t mind it personally I just hope the club aren’t paying for the FL’s Xmas do in fines because of it. Imo it is the home teams responsibility to stop them, as I believe they arrange security even for the away end? But I might be wrong. I’m more interested than anything what Rogers take on it is and other clubs at a board level.

I’m guessng Rogers take on it will mirror the clubs official take on it, that its against ground regulations to do it and anyone found doing so will face a ban from football grounds (i know the club stated how long in a the statement they put out, can’t remember how long it was). Bradford as a club suffer through fines and possible sanctions but that won’t make a difference to your ‘casual’ away fan. I’m with you, personally they don’t bother me at all, but if the club is gonna suffer as a result it needs stopping. Its not just a Bradford problem though, its a fad thats caught on throughout football because of the ‘youtube’ era.

As I've mentioned on another thread, Blackburn Rovers have introduced a £12 premium for matches against problem Clubs, to cover the cost of additional policing/security/checks, with Accrington Stanley announcing they will follow suit next season. Other Clubs are following this with interest so, if the issues continue, City fans could be facing a lot of expensive away matches.

Can’t blame them, but it’s also very frustrating and a shame. Footballs already to expensive as it is in the lower leagues.

I would be more concerned by the “We’ve got James Vaughany, he makes me...... horny” chant.

That might be the worst chant that has ever been heard at any football ground.
