Clearly 'over the top' though, bad challenge based on that still, want to see it myself before declaring tho.

 

I'm not debating it was a red. Red all day long. Just don't think it was an intentionally high challenge (and if you don't think some footballers do intentional leg breaking fouls, then you haven't been watching football long enough), and he was just late and beaten by Palmer to the ball. The ball was there to be won, hence why he ran 15 yards with the belief that he could win it.

 

If thats studs up then so is every tackle in football....
His foot barely tilts.


He just gets there late after running full pelt.
Its not some "horror" tackle, its not high, its not two footed. Its late and very slightly off the ground.



Rather than using the injury. I'd rather use the reaction of our players.
Not one of them "rages" at Lund. Donaldson puts an arm around him.

Remember when (Paul) Gascoigne played for Spurs, and took out 'Palmer', (Notts Forest)? Gasgcoine ended up missing the remainder of the season, as Palmer played on. Nowt wrong with commitment - But good play, and intention has it's place, and pays a price.

 

The player dinked it over and too late to pull out. Therefore he was not in control of it. Red card

BRE's foot was on the floor. I managed to freeze frame it just as he touched underside of the ball that was on the floor. He then went through and hit their man who jumped, with both their man's feet off the floor before contact. I don't have a problem with BRE getting sent off but the ref MIGHT have given a yellow if he could have seen BRE's foot on the floor and their man jump before contact. I've no problem with a ref being strict for a stupid challenge if the ref is consistent.

 

There's no way we deserve to be behind. It's been all us. Even before their red we started well and their pen came from their only attack.

We've played some good stuff but we need more from the front 2. We've put in some great deliveries but the front 2 aren't on it and Donaldson has missed an absolute sitter on half time. I'd be getting him off for McCartan.

 

Should have had one. Missed from 1 yard out -Connor Wood put it on a plate for him.

 

OK ....... So HT, and City are behind. Very LITTLE coverage on the game - But from what I hear, and see .... City need to press with more intent, than frequency.
It's no good having the ball, if you don't do anything meaningful with it. Nor should that possession be wasted.
City can work smarter, and make Scunny work harder. Bowyer - Do your job !!

We badly need to up the tempo 2nd half.
Why bring Akpan on for injured Palmer? Surely a more attacking player like Shay against ten men?

 

We need more from the front 2. Cooke has pulled the strings, both wide players have been a threat, plenty of deliveries into the box. The front 2 have been poor. Vaughan had a great effort against the post but otherwise he's been very quiet. Donaldson has been busy but hasn't done enough with the ball and missed an absolute, golden chance on half time.

 

Nothing more to add. I was celebrating when Donaldson headed it. Don’t know how he could miss. 71% I know it doesn’t always mean much, but this has been one way traffic. Just Mellor being idiotic again!
