Of course he can/will get match fitness at our club, how do you think the likes of McCartan and Scannell before him got match fitness, either starting them and giving them 60/70 minutes or bringing them on for the last 20 minutes or so.

 

Scannell and McCartan haven't been out for 2 years and let's be fair Scannell was out for about 3/4 months and still up until we sold him he didn't look right.

How will Reeves get match fit not playing??

He needs to go out on loan. Anyway doubt we will see him for ages if at all.

For footballing reasons why wouldn't you sell him or loan him out in Jan if possible.

I see no point in rushing Reeves back. Hopefully the back room staff have got things sorted,once the guy is physically and mentally fit we should see him back at Valley Parade . I would like to think a target as been set hopefully before Xmas.

Maybe Xmas needs to be a deadline if it hasn’t worked out shake his hand and say tara. I did see a lot of promise in the lad when he did play for us but who knows .

 

It makes me sad to read some comments made on the T&A and even on here regards Reeves situation, a player for our club. Agree, the nature of communication on his situation hasn’t been over informative. However lets face it, it’s quite obvious from what has been reported that this situation is simply more than physical. As the article says, I’d like to think Reeves is contributing in some capacity whilst he isn’t physically ready to play and as fans we don’t half the stuff what actually happens behind the scenes, we mostly speculate.


I’d like to think as a supporters we can a little more empathy for situations such as Reeves and perhaps, more than other clubs. If Bowyer says he’s working towards coming back then great, I hope he does and I for one would be more than happy to see Reeves in a city shirt again.

 

Yeah, i've just read it and thats what i thought. From the piece i'd be surprised if the lad plays for us again because they clearly have no idea how long it will be before he gets anywhere near playing again. Admirable stance from the club in having him involved but to me it seems more for Reeve's state of mind than anything else at this stage rather than a plan for him being involved in playing.

 

That'll be nearly two years. Has anyone ever come back after such prolonged period out?

 

I'd be amazed if we have insurance cover for players' not offically signed off medically or not fit to continue their career's.
The premium's for the insurance cover you hint at would be enormous for a club of our small stature

 

He's in training, so he is back to work which means we are paying him.

He will need match fitness and like Bowyer said it's not about 45 mins then in the squad.

I would loan him but in truth I would just get rid.

 

The club or Reeves should just come out and fully do firm that though. No second guessing.

His contract runs out at the end of the season. No point playing games.
