First Signing - Richards-Everton

Think you mistook the irony in my post.

 

Honestly when I heard this I thought we'd signed Ben Richards from Everton ! ..zero chance of this lad ever turning out for Liverpool ? I'll reserve judgement hasn't played a good deal at Accy ? and injury prone by all accounts ..so he fits from that perspective. Still he's 6ft 5 and aside from Bowyer getting down Howarth Timber for a big lump a wood it's probably best we can expect at pub league level ?

For anyone who likes their stats, Richards-Everton is currently rated the 3rd best player in league two. He has been our best signing so far I feel. Always looks composed

Surprise hit signing for me. Along with Vaughan, best two signings going on performances so far.

First name on teamsheet as far as defence is concerned, for me. But please Bowyer, lets go back to back 4, and let the O'Connors fight it out to partner BRE

 

So really they rate him as the best defender in L2

Is this the same Hanson who was our player but is useless now and rated a crock and finished as a player by most on here?

 

Yes that same Hanson who has 5 goals.

Grimsby built a team around him

 

Grimsby have a game plan, interesting to see how long they can keep Hanson fit. Not to dissimilar to our game plan when last in league 2. Agricultural at times but be effective with what you've got.

 

That’s because it’s easy to jump on a bandwagon and be a sheep as everyone agrees with you and backs you up. Hanson with his experience etc was always going to be an effective league two player. However be cautious as the season is a long one

 

Yeah him and Green staying fit are key for them from what I saw when I went earlier in season.

 

Amazing what a settled team and a game plan can do. There is very little difference between 90% of the clubs in league 2, all down to who executes their game plan better. Back to BRE, what every league 2 side needs. No nonsense with a winning mentality. Just don't ask him to pass.

He will do a good job for Grimsby (when fit)
and a great addition to any L2 team who need a back up striker
for when the main centre forward gets an injury !!!!'

 

He's quality. I like his ball carrying. My only concern, is that when he is on one of his marauding runs and loses the ball, such is our shape, there's going to be large areas exposed.

He's been very good, long may it continue. Time to keep POC next to him and really start to build a long lasting partnership.

 

I agree. Vaughan came with expectation and has lived uo to it so far if he can keep scoring.

BRE came with none and some saying it was a poor signing. He’s proving everyone wrong
