Is this the same young lads who got a 0-0 with Cov a few weeks ago in the league? If so, I think some on here were taking them too lightly.

 

And what did he do to deserve that?

 

It means nothing that you are a forward and you should stand up and be counted I'd much prefer 5 lads step forward and tell Bowyer I'll take one gaffer if they feel confident whether they are strikers or defenders.

So that takes Devine, Anderson, Gibson and Patrick out of the equation which is unsurprising really. Left side is Pritchards for the taking if he wants it, same on the right with either Connolly or Ismail, we'll just have to fudge it in the middle with Palmer and Cooke. But you just know Akpan will be back on Saturday.

 

You do realise we were effectively playing children tonight. It's a dreadful performance and a dreadful result.

 

Bolton's young lads did themselves proud tonight. Clearly infused by the crowd and the lad who scored their goal looks a real prospect.

Nothing wrong with taking a penalty like that, it's all about not having any eye contact with the keeper and trying to catch the keeper off guard. Paul Gallagher has been taking them like that all his life and don't see why more players don't take them like that.

Yeah that's how I see it. I'd happily trade all 4 for 1 decent midfield player. They're all different flavours of the same crap. Soft, sloppy in possession, no end product, poor decision making. The only one who has a chance is Gibson, because if he can improve his composure and decision making, he does have some technical ability. And both those weaknesses can be improved through experience.

 

We didn't win.

 

Of course I realise. First half was very poor. The result is a poor one. The second half performance was much better than the first though. There were pockets of encouragement with some individual displays but itll only mean anything if Bowyer starts making sensible tactical and team selection choices.
