Away vs Stevenage

If we had a midfield who could control the game and tackle wed walk this league, the rest of the side looks set. Need to get the ball to scannell more though.

 

A young player who may have found his niche.

 

Two different things for me.

Carry the ball - yes, so we don't kick it aimlessly

Getting passed around us - we need a tackler in midfield.

 

Shame he's now back at left back. I think he'll do well in this league as a left midfielder. He's got a cracking cross on him.

 

Just when is Scannell going to tear up this league, as many predicted ?
Listening to the radio you wouldn't even know he was playing.

 

Hes class at this level, real finisher, can hold the ball up and excellent in the air. He should go for good money I reckon

 

Keep the faith someone could be on the way.

 

He's not been given the ball and is often double marked. We need to create space for him by passing the ball. We're not passing the ball. We're hoofing the ball.

 

We Look better since Henley went off, Wood and Devine doing well. We look so poor down the right, Mellor and Scannell are both struggling

Why can't they pass to each other?

 

Vaughan and Donaldson using their experience to win a lot of free kicks. Devine started nicely, but now has gone quiet. Scannell doesn't look like he's up for this one at all. Akpan already looks like his laziness is going to cost us possession in midfield. OC and Everton looking pretty solid at the back. Some great balls in by Wood - I think Vauhan would have scored if Soares hadn't got to him before it. Too much long ball perhaps, but that could be because we don't seem to keep the ball in midfield. Taylor for them is full of tricks like he was for us, and I can see him in the second half looking to get some shots away. We need an enforcer in the middle, which Palmer and Devine just aren't.
Second half we need to get Scannell into the game.Vaughan looks dangerous everytime he gets into their box. If Scannell isn't up to it, then give it to Wood.
Massive controversial comment, but I think bringing on Patrick with 20 off mins to go, would work. Their defence look a bit flat footed, and with his pace and err..unpredictability, he could actually do something!

 

Half time we’re winning , if you look at bbc tables if this was full time - we’d be 2nd in the league

 

Midfield outnumbered 442 often ends up with more direct football.we passed it against Cambridge wit 60% possession and created nothing.
