Am reading this at a distance of 5106 mikes away ! and thats probably as near as I'd wanna be with you lot in this mood ! ?.

Now as you know I'm usual "harbinger of doom and gloom". But I'm not worried ..lets keep positive give Mr Bowyer and his charges a bit a breathing space and get behind them. I'm the least person to let them off the hook ?. But one game in 0-0 I'm holding my powder.

Lets get a grip and remember "Who We Are". Are we going a let the likes of Smallford City boss this Canalarger league around ? Or a Josh Wright inspired Leyton Orient ?

Are we hell as like ? CTID !

I was watching training this morning. Scannell was definitely training and looked in good health. Paudie was also training but has missed quite a bit, so will probably need another two weeks. The other O’Connor was not there, neither was McCartan or Ismail. Akpan was training on his own with a coach, still looks stiff to me. I can confirm everyone looked happy enough, they were practicing shooting with both head and feet. GB was taking training this morning, no sign of Drury, but maybe he was training out of sight with the injury boys.

There is always one!! No he just did not appear to be moving with freedom, but at least he was jogging up and down the field, he might shake it off before Saturday.

Well he is a big lad, and therefore more work for his spine, so this back spasm problem, might be an ongoing problem. Or it make be ok now, and he is ‘nursing’ it a bit. You tend to be ware with your back when you have had back pain.

Think they have a large supply at the training ground that wasn't used last year.

It’s because fans like you that we have the managerial merry go round.

I want to see 5+ years of stability like we had under Parkinson.

No it does, his stat record works from his 1 game and his win ratio is extremely poor at Bradford City so far.

Continues at this rate he will be sacked by New Year. Football is about results mate.

I'm sad to see that the Fordy117 who was so positive late last season was actually Fraudy117, and you're still the same old doom mongerer who projects negativity on to dominant displays... :( :( :(

Look, I want his results to improve and I feel they will improve.

I'm highly confident we will go up this season automatically but the thread is alive because currently Bowyer's results are poor and we can't ignore that.

Now on this I agree. Whilst I supported GB yesterday, if this premenision (sp?) was to occur, I would definitely advocate his sacking.

To date GB has 2 wins, 3 draws and 7 defeats. If we continued as per these stats on New years day, we would have accumulated 4 wins, 7 draws and 14 defeats amassing 19 points into a 25 game season.

I would expect dismissal of GB well before this, as well as relegation for the future.

But this ain't gonna happen. The reality is we will have more points come NYD but enough to satisfy the thirst of those wanting automatic promotion back to L1?

People have judged Bowyer purely on his media Rhetoric, he talks well, looks well, decent honest guy and people love this, they want him at our club for a long time etc etc. The hard facts at this particular moment are his results are poor. With the players he has brought in he needs to win games. He needs to stop 4-3-3. We have the best two forwards in the league by a long way. Get balls in the box, use two wide men and get some goals it’s really not rocket science.

Mansfield have better strikers, and it's empty rhetoric to say 4 3 3 won't work.

I'm judging Bowyer on his success elsewhere, I won't judge him on last season but I will see how he gets on this season. But I appreciate sometimes it takes a few games for a team to click and I'm prepared to wait and see if that happens not whinge like we're the worst team in the EFL after one game.

As I've said elsewhere I think Bowyer wants to play 4-3-3 come what may. His problem is that he hasn't the players to do it at the moment and he can't shift those he doesn't want because they're on good money and no one else seems to want them anyway. Similarly, he can't get the players he does want as there's no money left. So he can play his system with what he has or adapt and play to the strengths of what's here. Trouble is he doesn't want to play 4-4-2 because we haven't anyone for the left side, nor do we have two central midfielders strong enough to play in that way. So he hasn't the players needed for either system. I think this is why he continually refers to the need for two or three windows to get what he wants. Until that happens I think we'll be seeing square pegs in round holes whatever team he picks.
