    Siewart all day long.

I can understand why they brought him in - trying to keep with the same sort of mentality and style that worked under Wagner, but let's be honest....they were bloody lucky to get promoted out of the Championship under Wagner. How many teams do you see going up with a minus goal difference? Fair play to them for staying up that first year when completely written off but I think Wagner's reign was just a unique (if brilliant) one.

The only positive thing for Siewart is that the Huddersfield board were patient with Wagner when he first arrived.

The difference is this was a competitive match in league two a lot of the stuff down here is spoiling packing midfield and defence and fight like hell. We just played in front of it on Saturday we need more width and pace especially at home or there will be repeats

Derby looked fitter and sharper than Huddersfield.

Huddersfield desperate to defend well and nick a goal all time. Onus has to be on them at home surely

I did point out you were wrong, but I’m not sure you accepted it as you challenged me again.

Your original comment claimed the formation and personnel worked during pre-season. I replied by asking if it did actually work, and provided 2 games where I believe it hadn’t worked. Did you accept that?

Instead, you then claimed we had played the formation and the front 3 against Wigan. To me you were desperately trying to continue your point even though I had already told you were wrong. So yes, I replied the second time by ‘SHOUTING’ if that’s what floats your boat.

Fact is you were wrong, refused to accept it and now are getting upset because I pointed it out a 2nd time.

Oh and before I forget, YOU’RE ALSO LYING. You claim that you didn’t watch the Wigan game and was merely going off the T&A. Yet that made it perfectly clear that we had played a 4-4-2 formation >>>

Firstly, I don’t believe he was hired to keep us up, he was hired based on the fact he got Blackpool up from league two at the first time of asking so we’re playing the long game with him.

Secondly, based on what you’ve seen do you think there is anyone better suited out there either employed or not?

Thirdly, you say it’s not a Bowyer our thread but it sounds like in your mind you have already judged him on last season, pre season and this one game. You must have otherwise you wouldn’t have written this in the first place.

I respect the fact you have an opinion and that’s your prerogative, no matter how bewildering it may seem to some.

Point 1: So we accepted we were down with 11 games to go? Bowyer and Rhodes both came out and stated they still feel we can stay up many a times.

If Bowyer wasn't employed to keep us up then more fool him for accepting the job when did then because his record at Bradford City currently looks shameful at unless it improves it will go against him. Also we might as well have kept Drury as manager until to end of season if Rhodes thought we had no hope in staying up.

Point 2: loads of managers out there. Always a difficult and pointless question to answer. Who would of thought for example Cocu would of replaced Lampard at Derby or Lampard would of been Chelsea manager after one season.
I just think Bowyer was a lazy appointment.

Point 3: No, this isn't a Bowyer out thread at all but his record at Bradford City is poor at it can't be ignored. Comes a time when it's right ok, when is he going to improve? When do we judge? As I say Huddersfield we're booing last night at the final whistle and their manager is the same position as Bowyer in terms when he took over and I believe they won all their pre season games but we all know pre season means nothing.
You say he was hired to take us up and we all hope he does but playing Doyle as a 10, giving Devine, Anderson and Colville new contracts, still having a weak midfield, team lacks pace and width, no decent 4th forward, making subs far too late. Has Bowyer still got it? As I say I feel it was a lazy appointment!

He’ll have given it a good go staying up but to me it’s such an obvious correlation. If they knew going down was a clear possibility then they’ve gone for someone early to give him a full post and pre season who has a proven record of bouncing back first time. Time will tell of course.

Judge him after the first ten league games for me. If we don't have more than 4 wins after that - it's a bit worrying lol

Really hope he does take us up straight away. We all do!

When he got Blackpool up for me they should of gone up automatically but suppose he did what was required.

Think we accepted we were down week on week after the Barnsley game, the damage had been done. he will have been brought in with the hope of miracilously turning it around but even the best managers in the would have struggled to get a tune out them.

Not bothered about Huddersfield, they can boo all season. Only idiotic fans boo'd on Saturday, the majority that I've spoken to since Saturday are positive about the season and can see the changes and what we are trying to achieve.

Only time will tell but it's definitely not a lazy appointment, in fact I think and still believe it's a very good and positive one. He's brought 10 players in and they need time to find their feet, find the right combination and formation. Devine came on and looked better and more positive than both Anderson and Doyle. Doyle as a 10 won't work but we don't have McCarten yet to try fill that role if he continues with that formation. The team doesn't lack pace or width it's just that in the 1 and only game this season it wasn't used.

We also have O'Connor, Mccarten, Ismail and Akpan to come back into the squad.

And it's only 1 game into the new season FFS!!!

I can see both sides to the debate
Agree it's way way too soon to judge this season but consider his record to date with us
    Played 12
    Won 2
    Drawn 3
    Lost 7
    Win rate 16.7%
Granted last seasons wasters weren't his players but you have to keep one eye on whether he has the ability turn us around
I do think it's time he forgot about his past glories at the mighty Blackpool
and prove his credentials at Bradford City
Jury is definitely out for me

It's irrelevant whether he came to keep us up or not. His track record is pretty irrelevant as well and what's happening at Huddersfield is definitely irrelevant. Fact is this thread would still have been here whatever the manager. It's a fordy thing. There was one for the last manager and they'll be one for the next. There is no manager in the land capable of managing Bradford City in his eyes. It's surprising just how many clueless manager we have in this country and disappointing that so many of them seem to end up here.
