    Looks like only Chris and Andy Taylor and our Nortey are the only surviving trialist from the original list although Luke wall got another run out last night

    Disappointed that Myles Hippolyte isn’t getting another run out, if that’s the case. Thought he could bring something to the squad. Good on the left and back up forward. Tilt looked worthy of another look too.

    Roger, get yourself to Queensbury Celtic on Saturday. We are opening our new clubhouse. Food and bar will be available. Some old, slow, limited ability geezers who can't tackle, can't shoot, can't defend will be making an attempt at staging a game from 1.00....hold on sounds like déjà vu from last season!!

    If he put any effort in he might get double figures without penalties.

    Reason:same poor attitude and application as the rest and when a chance did come his way, he usually missed it. Evidenced by the fact most of his goals last season were penalties.
    Can't pass, no pace, no strength, mentally weak

    You chose to highlight my 'childlike' use of language (I wouldn't teach my kids to swear but each to their own) because you couldn't find anything else wrong in my post to disagree with, or you'd have debated me on that front instead.

    I'm slightly worried how obvious I've had to make that for you if I'm honest. If you speak to me with respect I'll do the same, if you talk to me like a child I'll talk to you the same, simple.

    I’d think a Brighouse effort but maybe we will see Ismail etc given a run seen as he wants some minutes in them.

    Majority will return then for weekend game

    Yes a really good turnout despite the weather. Teams were not evenly matched, one had a few younger ones and fitness told in the end with them scoring 3 in last 10 mins to win!! But fantastic day and fantastic facility for the club. Reminded me how long I've been coaching when kids I've coached at 5 now coming back @ U15s!!

    As the saying goes, you don't get anything out, unless you put something in ! ;)

    FWIW, my SUFC friends brother coaches a team on the outskirts of Sheffield ........ More like Chesterfield, ha ha ha.
    Anyway ..... LAST year, they too had an open day to 'celebrate' the extension and refurb of their Club House.
    In the middle of a country village, a copse was utilised to house a Bouncy castle, inflatable maze and ball pool for the kids, with a half dozen picnic benches 'surrounding' them. Between the copse and pitch, they had a BBQ and beer / soft drinks area. Spirits etc were purchased at the Club House bar, adjacent.
    The event was almost FREE entry (A voucher issued to £6 adults, and £3 under 16's) This worked well, in that U16's would NOT be served any alcohol. :)
    The BBQ was average, BUT HO, did they do a swell Hot Dog !! I managed 3 pints of Bombadier, and 6 giant Hot Dogs - with all the trimmings (plus a steak buttie or two - Blush !!), in my seven hours there !
    After the 'friendly game', a Junior said to me ..... 'WOW - more people here today than at 15 games all last season !!' .... So yes, it went well.
