He's waiting for confirmation of the pizza supplier and he'll be through the door.

Think the likes of Doyle will leave and hopefully the likes of A.O'Connor, Patrick and McCartan .Wouldn't mind Doyle staying for the season but it's understandable if he leaves.

The window so far has been better than expected but still plenty of work to do.

The midfield is a massive concern for me as I think it's weak and we could do with another forward.

I want a decent midfielder in ASAP if I honest so they can create a understanding with the forwards in pre season but with the loan market not open it's about understanding that players like Major might just take a little bit longer to get over the line.

We're acting like a big club in the lower leagues now... Fans just need to grow their ambition levels now also. Forget Salford. Div 2 is all about Bradford City.

I think wood did well when he played in midfield, I don’t think anyone could of looked good in that defence, so maybe he will do better at the back this year.
I really rate him and think he will do well in the future.

Wouldn't O'Connor make a decent defensive midfielder? Think he has played there in the past and with the new physical lads behind him maybe could be one answer. Would also probably be least expensive option rather than releasing him for just a pittance or even a pay off and then having to bring someone else in. We mustn't forget that even if players come in who are out of contract elsewhere there is still their agents commission, welcome bonus etc. to be paid.

I'll be honest I'd rather not have him anywhere near the team.

We may see a different player this season, Last year he had no competition and knew he was a shoe in to play which made him feel he was indispensable to the team, This season he has genuine competition for his place in the side and a different more positive attitude within the club, This hopefully will spur him on to improve both his attitude and his performances.

I said the same thing in another thread. I recall O'Connor having a couple of very effective games at defensive CM. Much better than his usual CB performances.

I understand the desire to get rid of him because he was perceived as a malign influence last season. But who knows how much that was down to the circumstances as the time. I certainly wouldn't be disappointed if he is moved on, but the 'clean slate' policy seems to be applying now and Bowyer may yet make something useful of him.

Is that because he threw the armband or because he's a poor player?

I personally think that these 'leaks' are not accidental. The club recognises that it needs to keep supporters informed, but can't do it officially. Therefore allows information to sneak out. It happens in politics all the time

Not because of the arm band alone I just thought his attitude was poor all season, Aberdeen fans warned us and true to form he showed the same attributes last season. Performance wise I didn't see what he offered either!

If so, I agree - its a great way of playing the PR game and getting supporters building up with some anticipation.

I'm not convinced its the case though...

Find it interesting when fans mention players attitude. For me, apart from the armband incident, I personally didn't see anything to suggest he had a bad attitude. It looked, on the field, like he tried his best, didn't pull out of a tackle, battled, fought and played to his ability. If anything I think he may have tried too hard at times which affected his performances.

I don't think I could disagree more - to me he looked lazy and disinterested. thoroughly unprofessional. armband incident or not.

The stories about after the Walsall game on the coach etc, normally there's not smoke without fire and something doesn't sit right with me about him, personal opinion and can understand why somebody else might think different.

I can’t tell you what games he played midfield but the couple I saw he played really well

Attitude aside, cant think of a centre half weve had, who'd collect the ball from his keeper, carry it forward a few yards then run out of ideas as much as he did last season. He looked so uncomfortable and ended up playing a pointless ball back to his keeper putting him under needless pressure on far too many occasions. Hed have been better aimlessly punting it up field. Taking into account what the Aberdeen fans had to say about him prior to him signing, armband gate, and the fact that hes shown himself to be not much use at all at centre half, I hope hes the next out of the door!

One things clear for me O’Connor is a not Center half. He’s too weak in the air, especially for league two.

Defensive midfielder may be but wouldn’t be picking him over akpan and that says a lot
