Andy Cook could do well for Mansfield (free from Walsall).

Carlisle have lost Jamie Devitt (gone to Blackpool, undisclosed).

Josh Morris has left Scunny for Fleetwood.

Orient have sold striker Macauley Bonne to Charlton (undisclosed).

Graham Carey left Plymouth for CSKA Sofia.

Northampton signed Nicky Adams from Bury and Alan McCormack from Luton.

Richie Towell left Brighton for Salford.

I definitely think we're ahead of the game now.
Just need to sort midfield and a winger who
can play either side and we're looking good.

A trip to bookies is in order way things are
    shaping up.

200k for Doidge. Gutting for forest green when he went for a million last summer

    It's still early days.

Scunthorpe signed Andy Butler from Donny, who I think will be a good signing for them. Plymouth allegedly after a few Bury players. Of the teams relegated with us I am probably the least worried about Walsall, I still expect they will do well and challenge for the playoffs though.

Got a solid manager for this level Walsall. Think they will be half decent.

The transfer market is important, but there is one thing that's more important.

We can do the best business out of every side in League Two, but it doesn't mean we'll win the league.

For me, we might have the best front line. Our defence looks much improved. Our midfield needs a further option or two, but should we sign them, we'll have a good squad on paper - not just an XI, but a squad. With balance.

However the most important things will be:

    Which team is hungriest?

    Whose players want it most?

Who will win the most 50-50's all across the pitch?

The team with those attributes, alongside ability, will win the league.

From an ability-based standpoint, however, we have NO excuses now. Bowyer has done great business in the window - now it's down to those new recruits to show the hunger and desire to gain results week in, week out.

Totally agree with this. Our recruitment so far has exceeded
my expectations and still more to come.Other teams will of
taken the view, even more, that we are the "big boys" and the
    team to beat.

Consistency will be crucial every game as we will have to beat
teams raising their game every week.

My mate is a Scunny fan and he’s delighted with the Butler signing but he says they’ve a lot of high earners to move on before they bring many more in. Same position I thought we were in but we’ve done pretty well so far!

Our fitness coach and luck could be the pivotal factors?
Lose 4 + first teamers and being unfit in this baba league and we will struggle even with our much improved squad.
That'll be the same for all our rivals too.

Last year many of the recruits were lauded. Great business. Eoin Doyle how he had given city problems in the past.
O donnell. Parky chased him seasons ago. What a keeper.
Akpan. Man mountain. Our new midfield destroyer who will boss games.
Wow Jack payne. What intent from city.

The fact is without heart and desire it doesn’t matter. If they had put in 100% every game then their class and strength would have prevailed.
    They didn’t. They shrivelled.

Coming to this season. Everything looks strong but the proof is in the performances and results.
    Reputation means nothing.

We should do well. The signings appear to be of the right character. All I’m saying is you never do know. Particularly when you have to make so many changes which we have no choice about.

Hope we are up by Christmas. Would be ok with top 7 to stop the slide.

i have this on for City to go up, cash out is at £630 already off £50 but also needs Man City Premiership & Sunderland to also go up... think its looking good though

City were 5/2 but after the first few signings dropped to 7/4 i see the odds have shortened even more now...

Strange bet that pal, betting on a match result and then betting on events that will end next year? Fair play to you, I haven't seen anything like it before!

Clarke was a very good appointment but Walsall don't seem to have a lot of money to spend. The £150,000 they've received for Cook might be his lot. Walsall supporters don't seem to like their owner, Jeff Bonser, much.

The big difference being that it was thought he might perform in the championship. He has proven he can't really so his price drops, but as you say gutting. it could have worked the other way of course if he banged in a few goals they could have got more. I would be chasing Bolton for that money though as a football creditor

Theres a midfielder at Forest Green being heavily linked with Derby or someone else in the Championship. Their season might hinge on how well they're able to recruit.

Bowyer’s old Blackpool striker Mark Cullen, who was mentioned as a potential City target before Vaughan and the Don signed, has joined Port Vale.
