I'm sure fellow fans will be delighted to see we have got our mojo back off of the pitch, winning "Best Boardroom In Football For Welcoming Visiting Directors" beating the Premiership giants is testament to what can be achieved off the pitch when it's left to fellow fans who have experience in various fields, well done to all concerned.
To put it into context, we beat Spurs to win that award who've spent a billion pounds on a new stadium- We win on down to earth Northern hospitality. Friendly smiles and 'what can we do to make your day special'

Let's hope Gary Bowyer and the team can achieve similar success on the pitch this coming season.

Yes well done to all involved with the clubs hospitality. Let's make sure we're as tight and as horrible as they come on the pitch next season though!

    And yet we're losing money.....

The Capitalist in me thinks we must be missing a trick to earn a few quid on the back of such award winning hospitality....

Are we losing money on the hospitality side? Or are we already earning a few quid from it?

Storck, as a cost centre the Boardroom makes a profit/ surplus and has ever since ML left and Steve Longbottom and I took over the running. Steve will be in sole charge next season and will continue what we have been doing.
The Ambassadors all clubbed together to ensure our great staff had a free night at the EFL Awards last night at no cost to the club and will be funding new carpet to the Boardroom for next season again, at no cost to the club, all in addition to paying their fees for Ambassador or Associate Director as we may revert next season. Win, win for the club I'd say.

I wasn’t actually thinking of the boardroom, more the hospitality as a whole, but it is good to know what a wondering job you are all doing supporting the club.

But don’t we win this award every season? I’m sure something was posted about this previously and that we had won it 3-4 times in succession.

@wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler can you clarify? I’m sure we won it prior to Rahic/Rupp buying the club and even in the years they owned it together.

I was down at the Stadium yesterday the car park was nearly full and street parking limited.
I believe a couple of events were going off it’s good to see the Stadium being used none match days let’s hope it continues.

The Boardroom of the Year Awards are a cause for celebration but I would add the need for context.

After the season we've had I can fully understand fans thinking that the clubs priorities are wrong - Looking after the posh nobs whilst the team underperformed.

The reality is that what happens in the boardroom goes a long way to helping the club on the field.

Deals for players we sign or get on loan are agreed by managers but sanctioned by the Chairman.

If they have a good relationship with the club and they like them, you'll win the battle for a loan player, or get better terms when negotiating a deal.

That's why looking after away Directors/Chairman is so important. Football is all about relationships. The boardroom Associate Directors and Hospitality team have done amazing work to make Bradford City the most popular club in the English League. An incredible achievement.

To put this into perspective, I left late last night and two people on our table were from Tottenham. I said my goodbyes and asked what award they were up for. The reply. "The one you've just won!" - They've spent £1 Billion and little old Bradford City beat them with friendly northern hospitality.

So when we're getting players on good deals and beating other clubs to a signing, it's important to understand that it all starts from the building of relationships.
