Coaching staff

Well under Drury the coach the player were sh@te last season.

The tactics were all over the shop and no player in my mind improved.

 

Don’t you think that would be the managers fault? It’s his job to progress and develop the players and also to decide the tactics.
I’m not a fan but that’s only because he looks like Rylan.

 

The problem was Rahic. He thought he could run and organise a team because he used to play a bit.

Installing Collins was ridiculous, but there wouldn't have been a problem if he stayed in his position.

Because Rahic and Collins were in the wrong positions, we were screwed.

Is Drury in the wrong position as assistant coach? Based on what?

 

Same reasons Collins was wrong to me manager.

If the club told you to pull your pants down, you would!

I seem to remember plenty who would have given the same reply in June last year though.

 

How do you know he’s “ok with it”? He says “we have to cut our cloth accordingly and I understand that”. Nowhere does he say he’s happy with the situation.

I bet even “Smallford” will have a fitness coach and assistant manager.

As for when McCall was in charge and we got to the PO final, didn’t he get to bring in his own man, Kenny Black? So what is your point again? You changing sides again and agreeing that McCall got success by bringing in his own team and Bowyer isn’t allowed to?

 

Who said he isn’t happy with Drury who is effectively assistant manager. As I said in a ideal world we would have a variety of coaches but we are in league two and what what money we have us rightly going into the team. Nothing to be worried about here

Did McCall’s first spell in charge not highlight the need for an experienced assistant? Jakes is a great guy but he wasn’t much help to Stuart when he needed him to be. Why do you think rookie Drury will be any different?

 

Absolutely the point. Not sure what some are not getting.

 

What is he guessing at? He said we didn’t renew contracts due to financial restraints. Isn’t that what Bowyer himself referred to with his ‘cutting cloth‘ comment?

Do you blindly accept and agree to every decision made by the club? It seems that way, because irrespective of the decision, you always try to put a positive slant on it...!

 

Isn’t Rhodes still acting CEO?

 

I base my view on the following;

- He was not appointed assistant by any of our previous managers.
- He failed in his only job at BPA.
- He was in charge for 1 game and we put in one of our worst performances of the season
- The first thing Bowyer did was to replace him with Todd.

The point is, we need an assistant manager, not just someone to help set up some coaching sessions/drills. If things aren’t going well, Bowyer will want his right-hand man around to bounce ideas off him.

As you say, all he’ll have is the coach with no managerial nounce

Hence why he replaced him as assistant with Todd almost immediately, and was disappointed when he left?

 

As the former u17s coach prior to his promotion, I can’t see him being on loads.

Pull the deal on Colville and put it to one side for Bowyer to bring in a competent assistant. Job done

 

He came with him with the aim of staying up. We didn’t we have a first team coach Bowyer must have taken part in the decision. There isn’t much more to be said.

 

If you need someone to explain the difference, then there’s no point in discussing it with you
