I know it's not completly upto date as it still has Todd as the Ass. Man.
But clearly states Junior Rhodes is CEO

 

I understood he was interim LA

 

It'll be interesting to see if their keeper adopts the 'dive over the ball' technique

 

There are quite a few on here who've clearly formed the opinion that Drury is useless.

Genuine question - on what information are you basing that viewpoint? Do any of you know any detail about his working methods, relationship with Bowyer and the players, etc etc?
Or are you just assuming that, because he was part of the ludicrous shambles set up by Rahic then he must be incompetent?

I have no view about Drury either way because I know the square root of sod all about him. So I'm keen to know, what is the ITK information that condemns him?

 

I don't know he's useless, I just think he proved when he was caretaker he's not experienced enough. I literally can not get the ''We won't get relegated'' comment out of my head, if Bowyer is happy enough with it I'll trust him but Drury wouldn't have been his first choice would he?

 

I had the same argument a few months back with the same few on here. No one will have a clue.

 

I'm not going to worry about the team on the sidelines until the team on the pitch give me cause to worry about them.

 

How do you know Drury is hopeless. Do you have inside information on his coaching methods that most of us don't.
I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong, but what do you base this opinion on?

 

But being a coach and being a caretaker manager are two completely different things. There have been many really good coaches who have been poor managers. How can you base an opinion of him as a coach on one game as caretaker manager in charge of a dysfunctional squad that three other managers couldn't get a tune out of?

 

The entire set up last season was a joke. I just don't understand how you can pick one person out of an omnishambles and say that they were a 'key part of last season'. Unless you have inside information, how can you possibly know who was and who wasn't mostly to blame. For all we know things might have been even worse without Drury's input.
The short spell as caretaker manager is irrelevant because a) it's not the same role as his current one and b) no one could could get a tune out of last year's squad over weeks or months so it's ludicrous to judge him on one game as stand-in manager.

It just seems to me that all the angst about Drury is no more or less than guesswork. Surely if Bowyer thought he was clueless he'd have made it a condition of signing that he got a replacement.

 

I'm basing it on what I've seen/heard from him and that comment was one. The other being that the highest level he's coached at is BPA in the National League North and even then he was sacked/replaced.

He may come good but if you're a player 9 times out of ten you listen to the more experienced/successful person. So imagine having Andy Todd in the building who has played in the PL with plenty of experience to a 33 year old Martin Drury who from what I can see hasn't played a game of professional football.

I just want the best for the club and I don't think Drury is that, but it looks like it's what our current situation dictates us so we'll have to live with it.

 

But by then it is often far too late, as were experienced last season.

 

He was sacked as manager at BPA, not as coach. Completely different roles.
He played for Doncaster and Sheffield Wednesday according to Wikipedia.
I'm still not hearing anything that tells me he isn't a decent coach.

 

I was worried from day one last season, on AND off the pitch.

The set up now is night and day, and I'm simply not worried about it.

 

Of course we all have our own opinions. I guess the difference is that our opinions, good, bad or indifferent, about players is mostly based on what we observe with our own eyes on match days. But with coaches, most of us don't have the foggiest idea what goes on behind the scenes, yet people form strong opinions based on miniscule levels of information.
