New signing Jackson Longridge

After being somewhat underwhelmed by our last signing I have to say I think this is the best signing of the pre-season so far. It reminds me a little bit of the signing of James Meredith, left back, similar age to Meredith when we signed him, Meredith was a conference player which I imagine is a similar standard to the Scottish Championship, both well liked by the clubs fans when we signed them. If he is anything like as dependable as Meredith was then we have a good signing.

Signing someone from the Scottish championship isn't an instant sign of ambition and wealth.

Hopefully he's a great signing but your mocking of FB on the back of the signing is just plain daft.

What do you mean mocking FB? Didn't mock him at all... It was in jest at the constant noises that we are, not FB. The fact that we are paying money means surely we aren't completely skint?

Two successive promotions with Livingstone, which means he must have played under Hopkin.....

 

According to some of the Dunfermline fans he had a 5k release fee

 

Makes absolutely no sense putting a release clause of £5k in his contract - unless the player and agent themselves have requested it - which also makes little sense.

Before someone points out that why signed Colin Doyle for a quid, that was because it also triggered a relegation clause in his contract - slightly different.

Another interesting addition to the squad. Hopefully we will have a solid defence this season. We desperately needed a bit more power/presence at the back last season and hopefully we’re getting there now. Bowyer seems to know exactly what he wants for the squad and that’s encouraging.

 

Longridge wasnt just a name on a bit of paper found in Hopkins top drawer once he'd cleared his desk was it ? Hope not ?

 

apart from livingston and dunfermline ,who are on par with league 2 sides, he has played for non league sides .Don`t see any of the new signings getting us out of league 2 .
