I can see the logic in falling in line with the state pension age. Thanks for the confirmation.

Because why would you ask such a question when anyone with a brain cell would already know that most disabled supporters do need a carer.

Clubs have policies dealing with a whole manner of issues, including Disability. Making sure that we make all reasonable efforts to allow suitable access and avoiding Disability Discrimination are at the centre of such policies.

The clubs policy is here; https://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/fans/disabled-supporters/

The club fully supports free tickets for carers to allow and encourage as many Disabled supporters as possible to attend.

There are varying degrees of disability - some disabled people need a carer, some don’t.
Unfortunately there are some people who use the ‘free carer’ ticket to their own advantage where they will gain free entry in cases where the person in receipt of DLA does not need caring for. In those cases I’d expect the ‘carer’ to donate to the charity or pay entry.
You’ll never change society where if someone can get something for free then they will.

One is receiving the proceeds of the game via the charity. Whereas the other isn’t?

    Pretty obvious really.

Anyway, I’m clearly in the minority here and I’ve been asked to leave it there..... so I will.

The carer entitlement is defined in the policy. It's for somebody looking after a person in a wheelchair, or a person with mobility issues requiring a carer (ambulant disabled).

If one qualifies for DLA at the higher or medium rate, which entitles you to a free carer, then according to a doctor the disabled person WOULD BENEFIT from having the supervision of a carer. I'd rather take the doctor and governments advice over a couple of fans who think I'm using it as a 'freebie' even though the disabled person in question has spent money travelling up and down for many a year, but some reason I still have to justify myself.

Not true. I know of someone that gets a carer ticket because their child has autism. Because the child is classed as ‘disabled’, the parent gets to go free. No mobility issues with the child

I don’t begrudge a disabled fan paying for a ticket and getting a free ticket for their carer. But this is not like a normal game. It’s a game for a charity- normal rules shouldn’t apply.

    Anyway, had my say.

The parent is there to assist the child, and quell anxiety, and to make sure that they are there to explain to other fans any inappropriate behaviour that may takes place.

The policy of the club is to encourage disabled fans to attend all games and not to exclude them from any games. I am absolutely sure many carers who will be attending will donate ticket money plus extra to the charity.

I’m not against it. I didn’t say they shouldn’t be getting the free ticket for this situation. I was responding to Glenn as he stated it was for wheelchair or mobility impaired fans only. I gave an example to refute that suggestion, but I wasn’t saying it wasn’t appropriate

I think the issue of the Disability Admission to the match has well and truly been done to death!

Can I very politely suggest that it is closed?

Back to the main issue, the Stephen Darby fund and the fact that we are playing Liverpool.

Being autisitic not disabled enough for you? F00k me why don't you try get a job working for the bastards who stop DLA. You sound perfect for it.

Your sort always have to, maybe you should keep your ignorant opinion to yourself in future.

No reason to close it at all.

Yes there is. It’s embarrassing now. People have had their say. Let it lie. It’s taking the goodness out of the match.
